Five problems related to hazard flashing warning light switch have been reported for the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer. When the vehicle was taken in for regular maintenance, the repair shop stated that the brake and hazard lights were inoperative. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that the hazard lights needed to be replaced. The replacement was previously made in 2000 under NHTSA campaign id number 01v364000 (exterior lighting:hazard flashing warning lights:switch). The manufacturer would not make the second replacement for free. The current and failure mileages were 98,300.
The hazard/blinker switch is begining to short out on my vehical a 2000 chevy Blazer VIN 1gndt13w7y2101591. I researched and found a recall for this problem: NHTSA campaign id number : 01v364000. However after contacting a dealership I was informed that this is a vehical specific recall and that my vehical does not fall into this recall even though the problem is exactly the same. I purchased this vehical used in December of 2004 and the problem began in may 2005.
Recall 01 v 364 000/ multifuction switch failure caused stop light and hazard lights to fail. Dealer and manufacturer were not notified at this time. Consumer states that both stoplights and hazard lights are not functional, dealer and manufacturer stated that the vehicle does not qualify for recall based on VIN.
Urn signals and brake lights stopped working. Dealer determined that emergency flasher switch had failed.
Consumer received seven recall notices regarding the hazard flashing warning light switch, the recall was resolved and the consumer was having a hard time trying to get the recall closed.
