Two problems related to wiper have been reported for the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I was driving yesterday when I smelled something burning. I looked and noticed my rear window was glowing orange and then the rear window exploded!.
Occasionally the front wipers on my 2000 chevy Blazer would stop working for no reason at all and eventually after a few minutes would kick back on, but as of yesterday Dec 21 2008 they will not come back on. I was informed that this is probably due to a bad wiper circuit board. This same problem occurred and had a recall for a 1997 chevy s10 pickup. And guess what??? they use the same part number. However chevy will not replace the wiper circuit board on my vehicle because there was never a recall on my specific vehicle model/year. If it is the same part and I am having the same problem this should be replaced by the manufacturer. Now out of pocket I am looking at $150 or a little more depending on what parts store I can find this circuit board at. I called several dealerships and the chevy 1-800#. To me this is unacceptable, if it is the same part number that had a problem in a previous vehicle then it should be covered under the recall notice.
