I have found multiple times that the instrument panel (ipc) display and the center infotainment displays have gone dark while driving. This has put me in unsafe driving situations because I am unable to monitor my speed and other important information displayed on the dashboard, or to control critical safety controls such as headlights, and other adas safety controls. Several software updates have been installed by the dealership, but the problem has persisted, suggesting a hardware issue with the radio unit. The manufacture insist it is a software problem and that they are working on a solution. Declining to replace the radio under warranty, additionally, they want me to wait until a new update is released, and in the meantime, my bumper-to-bumper warranty is about to expire. I have found that the radio unit is the main control module for both displays, multiple adas controls, and headlights, and it should be recalled, with the manufacturer extending the warranty or including the radio as a safety feature under the extended powertrain warranty.

1. Wire harness with coil wires is the problem. It was fixed by a local shop and the vehicle can be inspected if needed. 2. The car throws a code for a faulty thermostat/coolant temp sensor. This will not allow the car get to oporating temp and could cause engine damage or not perform properly causing risk of an accident. Also this will reduce the driver assist features such as lane assist and adaptive cruise/braking. 3. Yes. 4. A local shop inspected the thermostat and coolant temp sensor and they oporated as they should. 5. The engine light comes on for the reasons mentioned above. It also has a "driver assist reduced" message. It appeared randomly while driving and stayed on for multiple days. Vehicle had a code for a bad thermostat/coolant temp sensor and "driver assist reduced" message. The cause is not the temp sensor or thermostat and is actually a wiring harness that two wires need to be separated from the bunch. The frequency from one wire interferes with the coolant temp sensor wires. I am on several forums for chevy Blazers and there are tons of posts about this issue with the 3. 6 v6. Most people will go in and have these expensice parts replaced. It is not acceptable to have people get charged for a $800+ job when the part is not faulty.
The radio and all the sound notifications such as turn signals, emergency flashers, crash avoidance, cross traffic, lane departure, and the use of the emergency onstar system do not work. This has been addressed in gm service information #pit5971b: loss of audio and onstar led is red - (Apr 3, 2023) gm appears to be addressing this as an inconvenience of not having the entertainment of the radio and not the safety features associated with it. This also includes the use of hands-free cell phone.
