Three problems related to brake light on have been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet C1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Badly rusted brake lines burst causing no brake situation. No brake light lit before or for a day after the incident. Looking at the condition of the rest of the brake lines it appears that the material of the lines is defective as the remaining brake lines are very rusty also.
Abs light come on. Abs motor began to buzz and would not stop when the engine was shut off. I had to take the fuse out that was for the abs brakes. The brake light and abs light stay on the dash. I recently had valid break issues and I was not able to tell due to the staying on continually.
Brakes were working, but brake light came on dashboard dealership's mechanic told consumer that braking modular system failed.
