In regards to NHTSA campaign id number: 05v379000, I live in the western mountains of virginia and I am having the identical problems associated with the above mentioned recall. I don't think gm realize that there is a part of virginia, like west virginia, that gets a lot of chloride on the roads in the winter months. The vehicle has had a couple of near accidents due to the malfunction of the abs system. I have removed the fuse to the system until I have the problem fixed.
Driving 2002 chevy silverado 1500 pickup. Slowing down to stop in traffic and/or sudden stops at slow speed causes antilock brake system to activitate and requires farther stopping distance.
Truck equipped with anti-lock brakes, brake pedal descends to the floor when first starting out, and will also do that while being driven. Dealership states that this is normal.
