One problem related to axle shaft seal has been reported for the 1998 Chevrolet C3500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Left rear axle seals are leaking which could potentially cause a fire. Cause unknown. Also seals have been replaced twice. Dealer stated that there is a design flaw in rear end and that seals will only last for about 4 months.
