2002 Chevrolet Camaro. Consumer writes in regards to a design defect. The consumer stated there was a recurring problem with the sail roof panel bubbling through the black paint of the vehicle. The consumer was advised, by the dealer, that the adhesive was causing the failure. The sail roof is no longer being manufactured. The only way to repair the part would be to find a replacement at a junk yard. The consumer stated that was unacceptable.

2 Roof And Pillar problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 05/26/2012

5-26-2012: convertible top support broke. Fixed by dealer. Now severe other issues with convertible top, including but not limited to the car floors flooding when it rains, wind noise from the rear quarter glass, and severe "rub" marks from the structural top assembly. Car has been out of service for 69 days and at the dealership for over 44 days. It is still at the dealership. Gm/Chevrolet has been negligent in the handling of the repairs, along with the complete improper design of the top assembly. The dealer does not know how to fix it and gm/Chevrolet hasn't provided enough support to get the issues resolved.

3 Roof And Pillar problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 04/01/2004

While driving the t-top of the consumer's 2001 Chevrolet Camaro flew off the vehicle. When the top came off it struck the consumer in the head. The consumer went to the emergency room with a head injury. The consumer contacted the manufacturer to request reimbursement but was denied due to lack of evidence.
