The camber plate nut fell off inside the shock causing me to lose control and go through a field. The camber plate is the only thing holding the strut to the vehicle and should have had a locknut from the factory as it's nothing more than a ball joint. It is available to inspect. It caused me to lose all control when it separated. I own a garage and confirmed failure myself. No I called chevy about it and even asked if they wanted to send a factory rep out to look at it. I was told no and the only way they might be able to do anything is if I take it to the dealer for repairs. It was giving a small clunk at times that I thought was normal characteristics of the aggressive suspension. I do have pictures showing the failure as well if you would like them.

Vehicle shipped in unsafe driving condition I purchased this vehicle from cars2us with a clear understanding that the vehicle was in good working order. I paid $500 for shipping along with $3,000 cash down. I purchased it from out of state so I had to have the vehicle shipped to my work site. When I received the vehicle off the trailer, it was borderline underivable due to the rack and pinion and power steering system being faulty. I immediately contacted the dealer and he agreed to have it repaired and advised me to “take it to a mechanic you trust”! I did so and the mechanic called me to inform me that the manager of the dealership tried to convince him to put junkyard parts on the vehicle to fix it. The mechanic was infuriated and insulted by this and advised me to contact an attorney. I paid the full amount for the repairs totaling over $2,000 because he did a job he was asked to do and rightly deserved to be paid for doing so. The mechanic and I tried multiple times to contact him for repayment and he has not paid nor responded. I have all of our conversations and will happily attach them to this email. I’m furious because the vehicle was knowingly shipped to me in an extremely dangerous condition and I was forced to drive it to my house 13 miles away as well as the mechanic shop another 6 miles. I emailed the attorney general of virginia and reported the incident. It’s my goal to protect other customers from experiencing this kind of behavior and treatment. If you could please help me out in any way it would be greatly appreciated. Best regards.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and was informed that the part to repair the vehicle needed to be repaired by the dealer. The car vibrates when driving at speeds over 30 mph. It feels like you are driving over rumble strip. It does this every time I drive it now. It also shifts hard as it changes gears. I had to have a new rear boot put on the passenger side. All of the grease in the rear wheel boot was all over my wheel. There is a roar in the rear end when you first pull out onto the road. It feels like it is in the rear axle.
Delayed hard shifting at take off in transmission. Clunking sound on left turns from rear end. Whining noise from rear end when driving. Seized engine at 66,000 miles 2016 chevy Camaro ss.
I was driving during rush hour at 70mph when my axle shaft abruptly disconnected from the car. It was shaking violently, and I was unable to accelerate. I was only able to coast through three lanes of traffic to get the car off the road. I almost died when the person behind me almost drove through me when the shaft disconnected and the car suddenly slowed without the brake lights going off.

Car is shutting off while driving on roadways. Car not shutting off when pushing the ignition button. Car not starting at home or while in the community. All of this leaving me stranded for periods of time or holding up traffic. No codes being thrown to dash which leads me to believe something is wrong with the computer system. The chassis bounces and studders as if somthing is about to ceese up and the drive shaft clumks. Stabilitrak light has been fixed several times, traction control comes on as well. Numerous times not just once.

I have been having a lot of problems with my steering on this vehicle. I was driving my car and was in a turn when the steering wheel kicked back the opposite direction I was turning and I nearly went off the road. The force was so great that it actually injured my shoulder when the steering wheel kicked back. The steering in the car has since been so sloppy that I am scared to drive it, the car is all over the road. I took the car to the dealer and was told the vehicle needed to be aligned. I took the vehicle to my local tire store and they checked the alignment which was all in factory specs. Took the vehicle back to the dealer test drove with a technician who drove with me and he stated it was definitely not an alignment problem. I left the vehicle at the dealer for 3 days and got a call that it was ready to be picked up. When asked what was done I was told nothing. . . The car needs to be aligned. I had them align the vehicle which by the way did not fix the problem. Please help before this car kills me or someone else.

Front end makes clunking noise over road imperfections, car wanders wildlly. Gm claims it's normal.
I was turning the car to leave a parking lot and when I went down the slight slope the struts on the front made such a noise I though something snapped. I havnt had it checked yet but wow poor quality!.
I recently purchased a 2011 Camaro ss. This was a gift to my wife because she had always loved the Camaro. The car was purchased at a Chevrolet dealership. My wife drove the car home about 70 miles with no trouble at all. A few days later the temperature in north carolina dropped to around 40 deg and started to rain. My wife took my daughter to the store and she was unable to get above 30 mph because the car was uncontrollable due to the rear end constantly fish tailing. I was called by her crying because she was so scared. I contacted a friend to go and get the car and he called me as he was driving telling me what the car was doing. After doing some research on line I found out that the pirelli pzero tires that come standard on the ss and rs Camaro are summer only? tires. These tires are only to be driven in temperatures above 45 deg and in dry conditions! I am currently in the middle east and relied totally on the dealership to inform my wife of any issues or warnings that should have come with the car. Also Chevrolet is totally at fault by selling, as standard equipment, a tire that is dangerous to the point of being criminal when driven in weather conditions that cover most of the united states. I had to purchases, at the cost of over $1000. 00, a set of tires that are ?all season? so my wife can drive safely. I should not have to be paying over $40,000. 00 for a car that I need to spend another grand on just to make it safe to drive. This is totally and completely unacceptable. I will notify everyone and anyone that I can about the hazards of this situation.
Front suspension is very clunky going over moderate bumps. When the front suspension is rebounding onto a lower surface is bangs hard. I have passengers that have asked, "whats wrong with your car?" upon hearing it. Took it to the dealer, while still under warranty. Dealers response is all is fine, we didn't find any problems. I told them it has something wrong because what I'm experiencing with it is definitely not normal.
The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated that after having the vehicle in for routine service, the technician advised that the left front and rear pins and calipers were wearing the brakes down by sixteen percent. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. The failure and current mileages were approximately 16,390. Updated 07/21/11 the service tech stated the left rear and left front brakes were working at only 20%. The technician stated it was due to the consumer applying brakes more than normal. Updated 08/04/11.
Oing over a bump in road or hole in road the strut bottoms out and makes lound noise.
I just purchased 2001 Camaro z28 covertible. I have owned Camaro's forever and was never anything but completely happy with it. This car has some kind of "shake" to it at certain speeds. The steering wheel looks like someone is in the column shaking it! also it sounds like the springs need some serious help that I did not hear initially. The car only has 37k miles on it. I have only owned this car for a couple of months, brought it back to the dealer twice already and being told that there is no problem except for some kind of a covertible shake issue which completely sounds like a joke and they can't provide the bulletin that they say was issued on this car but was no big deal. I also took it to ase cert. Mechanics that are telling me different, I just need some help so I am not taken to the cleaners on this car.

My car has had a noticeable vibration since new. The 96 Camaro has a technical bulletin for vibration of drive shaft at highway speeds and the dealer will not replace the one on my 97 because there is no bulletin on the 97 Camaros. If they were bad for 96 then they should also be investigated on the 97 models. It seems that a vibration at speeds can lead to mechanical failure of drive line components. With speeds of 70mph on most interstate this could lead to a horrible accident. I just want the 97 models to be looked at for the same problem that existed on the 96 models.
