Front Seat Belt Buckle Assembly Problems of Chevrolet Cavalier

Plastic slide on the rear seat belt buckle cracked and broke. The seat belts cannot be used to secure a child safety seat in the rear of vehicle. Manufacturer and dealer will be notified.

The driver's seat belt latch mechanism broke into two pieces and became unattached from the mechanism belt loop anchor. This auto has not been in an accident and received light to moderate use. It has 118k miles.

The driver side seatbelt has broken at the female end - the mounting that holds the belt in place has broken off, leaving only a metal component for the belt to fit through. It is no longer fixed, nor adjustable. This is a pretty strong piece and therefore faulty in this vehicle, as it is only three years old.

While driving along seat belt buckle on driver's side comes unlatched. Manufacturer was notified about problem. Owner was told that seat belt buckle would have to be repaired at owner's expense. Problem has not been corrected.

While driving at about 50 mph consumer had to slam on brakes and the seatbelt did not properly restrain. The little pieces of the belt buckle fell off in the accident.

Driving at approximately 60 mph consumer spun vehicle, making a 180 degree turn driver's seatbelt unbuckled and did not retract, causing injuries.
