Seat Broken Problems of Chevrolet Cavalier

Takata recall air bags did not deploy in a rear end collision that totalled car. Also passengers seat broke causing neck and rib injury. Vehicle was stationary waiting for construction flagman.

On October 1st 2015 we were stopped for road construction on the highway. At that time we were rear ended by a hit and run driver. Impact was on the bumper, passenger side. On impact the passenger seat broke and slammed me forward then back into a reclining position. I was taken to hospital by ambulance. I was in pt for 6 weeks. Also airbag did not deploy.

I was rear ended. I was at a full stop. My seat broke. I ended up in a reclining position. The accident scene investigator-police officer told me this was a defective part and that should not have happened. The emergency room doctor said I sustained more injury because the seat broke and if I was hit any harded, I could have been thrown out the back window even though I was wearing my seatbelt. I fear that others may end up injured even more seriously.
