Cavalier coupe LS sport 2005:
the driver's seat reclining system is unstable. You can feel it move and acting loose while driving. It was not like this when first purchased. The car was taken to the dealership and they could not do anything to make it stable again. Their only response was, that this was normal, with time it becomes loose. It is unacceptable to make seats that feel fine at first, and a year later, become in that condition. You drive with your back rest unsteady and erratic. This can cause back/neck problem in the long-run. (also, the front seats are very uncomfortable, unpleasant especially if you have a long commute, it absolutely has no head-rest since they are leaned back too much, making it impossible to drive normally with your head rested against it. Plus, the front seats reclining system won't allow you tilt it forward much, consequently driving rather leaned back more than usual, on your seat. ).

2005 Chevrolet Cavalier developed problems with the driver's seat moving. The driver's seat was unstable. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer but they claimed that there was nothing wrong with the seat. The consumer said he also gets shocked by the vehicle constantly.
The front seats move, they aren't electric, however they move ever so slightly and a few time they had moved to the rear taking my foot away from the brake pedal.
On above time and date, I was traveling down a street at 25 mph when I heard a loud popping sound come from my driver seat. It caused me to shift towards the passenger seat, causing me to briefly swerve on the road. Fortunately, there were no other cars on the road at that time. Since I was near my home, I then parked my car and inspected the seat. Apparently, the backing of the seat (upper portion) and the spring assembly has snapped. Visually, you can see the springs pushing out of the back. This is a brand new car with 575 miles, seats shouldn't just break like this. What would of happened if I were in an accident? I thought the NHTSA should be made aware of this problem before someone does get hurt.
Vehicle was rear ended in a stopped position by other auto at 20+ mph, drivers' seat back collapsed, causing husband to receive a bad whip lash inquiry.

The passenger side seat starting moving when sitting on it 5 months after car with purchased brand new-- the dealer fixed the problem-- entire component underneath seat was replaced. 11 months later same problem-- dealer fixed again at no charge-- then 2 years later after warranty ran out it happened again-- its slides slightly when braking.
