Two problems related to wiper have been reported for the 1998 Chevrolet C/k Pickups. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 1998 Chevrolet ck 1500. The contact stated that the windshield wipers worked intermittently. Occasionally they do not come on and at other times, when they do come on, they will not shut off. The vehicle was inspected and there were no recalls related to the his year, make or model vehicle. The contact spoke with the manufacturer who stated that because his vehicle was manufactured in 1997 it should also be included in NHTSA recall 03v159000, visibility windshield wiper/washer; however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was 80,000 and the current mileage was 100,000.
I hate to sound repetitive ,but I also have a 1998 chevy silverado 4x4 that has a windshield wiper motor problem. I also think that gm should step-up and fix this problem because when it happens to so many of the same vehicles I feel as though it's a factory defect. This has been happening for a long time. The truck doesn't have but 61,000 miles on it. I confronted them about it and they wouldn't help me out. That's why I have a Toyota ,that's made in the USA, sitting in my driveway.
