1 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem of the 1999 Chevrolet C/k Pickups

Failure Date: 06/15/2005

Exhaust manifold bolts are snapping off one by one. This is causing exhaust fumes to enter the cab of the truck making the driver sleepy or sick from the fumes. After talking to g. M mechanics a lot of the chevy 3/4 ton with 6. 0 motors are doing this. This is a bad safety issue. G. M denies there is a problem.

2 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem of the 1999 Chevrolet C/k Pickups

Failure Date: 01/01/2004

Rear bolt on exhaust heads broke causing leaks on both exhaust heads on 6 liter engine.

3 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem of the 1998 Chevrolet C/k Pickups

Failure Date: 04/24/2003

Intake manifold gaskets leaking anti-freeze. Many trucks are experiencing this same problem. My truck has 74000 miles and I know of 2 others w/ 78,000 and 66,000 miles that needed gasket replacement. Talking to a dealer employee revealed that it is a popular problem with the chavy vortec motors. At a cost of around $400. 00, it is a too frequent problem. Thank you.

4 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem of the 1998 Chevrolet C/k Pickups

Failure Date: 12/31/2002

Intake manifold gasket failure on 5. 7 liter engine. From what the local Chevrolet dealership (w-k Chevrolet) told me, they replace 2 or 3 a week. Something to expect between 75,000 to 100,000 miles. This seems way over the line when spark plugs are expected to last 100,000 miles. Ts.
