Since December 2014, my car started flashing the airbag light. The dealer says that airbag is coiled and to replace is $1,600. 00. I can't afford that. The airbag light is now on all the time (no more flashing). I looked up online and there were a lot of complaint on Chevrolet cars and airbag problems. Now the recall for it is out but my car is not on the list. I do believe this is a recall problem and I would like some help to know to get my airbag problem fixed through the recall. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer (ciocca Chevrolet, located at 855 s west end blvd, quakertown, PA 18951; (215) 536-2100). The contact was asked to pay for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted at 800-222-1020 and stated that there was a 12 month warranty. Case number: 8-3182953508 was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 83,000.

A piece in the lever would not let cables hold tension. The consumer had the brake lever assembly replaced. The steering wheel coil had to replaced, to rectify the air bag light problem.

Purchased a used car and when I purchased it the airbag light was on in the car. They were fully aware of that. . So I don't know what is going on with the airbag. I have a car fax on the car . Whoever owned it before had a slight bump in the front. That was never fixed. So I don't know if it is a sensor in the bumper in the front. Wheni purchased the car I said I didn't have that kind of my to spend. I am on a fixed income . Hoping to get some help somewhere. This happened before I purchased by the previous owner. Thank you.

Driving down the road and the airbag on the passengers side shuts off with a passenger in the seat. Service airbag light goes on. Shut the car off and restart then it will be fine for a while. I think it is sensor on the seatbelt retractor.

When the contact took the vehicle to the dealer they could not diagnose the failure. The dealer informed the contact to bring the vehicle back if the air bag light continued to illuminate. Two months later, the light came on and the contact was concerned that the air bag would deploy at any time or that it would not deploy if the vehicle was involved in a crash. The contact made an appointment with the dealer for diagnostic testing. The contact does not feel safe driving the vehicle. The failure mileage was 31,000.

A man in a full-size pickup truck ran a stop light. I braked to miss him and turned towards the right. I ended up hitting him on his truck bedside right behind his tire. I was going about 35 at the time of impact. The airbags did not go off - but after the crash a service airbag light came on.

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt. The contact noticed many problems with the vehicle since the date of purchase in October 2006. The contact stated that the alignment was incorrect so the vehicle was taken back to the dealer for alignment immediately. Also, the check engine light, and the air bag light would illuminate intermittently so sensors were replaced by the dealer. The steering column and power steering motor, headliner. Catalytic converter, wheel bearings, struts, and the heating/cooling system were all replaced. The vehicle also stalled completely on an intermittent basis. The contact stated that the problems were consistent. The manufacturer had not been notified. The current mileage was approximately 104,000. The failure mileage was 369.
