4/22/13 approx 7:30 am, approached red-light, gently applying brakes. Car started to lose power! dashboard lights dimmed while I was slowing down. This has been happening for over a yr. As soon as light turned green, car felt like it was losing power and was going to stall out! (like if you were to run out of gas. Stepped on the gas, as soon as I saw the light turn green, to try to prevent the stall out, and about 1/4 into intersection, another car was running a caution light, which turned to red. . . My car regained power with a thrust of the engine, which took me into the path of the other vehicle who hit me at about 35 mph, which caused us to spin completely around in the middle of intersection. Airbags did not deploy. The police report stated I failed to yield the right of way. In part that is true, as I I felt I had to apply the gas to the car to keep it from "stalling! heavy damage to driver's side, front end, hood, bumper and support beam by engine. There are many recalls on this car. 5/9/2012, fuel odor or spotting on ground; 9/16/10-loss of power steering assist; 3/1/2010-recall 10v073000 power steering motor replacement; 1022/2009-fuel pump module replacement. In the pass three yrs I advised east syracuse chevy dealer that my dashboard lights, lighted areas radio, etc; go in and out like the car has an electrical problem, door left-open, lights, low-fuel, single lights chimes all don't work. Dealer advised me there is a short in the dash somewhere causing all these problems, radio speakers are all connected I would have to pay to repair which was over $2,000. Remotes don't work. I have had many front end problems with this vehicle, I. E. Sway bar, steering column bushings; struts;steering components, linkage/cv drive axle boots, control arms; repairs;11/30/11, 2/16/2011.

Service air bag light is constantly on. Dealer says its caused by sitting something in the passenger seat that isn't very heavy (purse, book, shopping bag, etc) and "confusing" the sensor, though I do not place anything in the seat. When the service light is on, the airbag will not deploy in an accident. Was told by a dealer service manager that they really weren't sure how to/if they could fix it.

On July 15, 2010 I was hit head-on by another driving at high speed near warrenton, oregon. Four vehicles in all were involved. I'm am totally disabled. Suffered multiple injuries, most on the right side of my body. Am unable to work. Pictures of my chevy Cobalt steering wheel clearly shows the airbag didn't deploy correctly. Thus leaving me with ongoing pain. Dislocated my right foot, six surgeries in all. Fractured my right wrist, key went into my right knee, bruised right breast and tissue damage, both knees and arms weak, bruising from seat belt and disfigured right foot, stomach, and right hip. Suffer also from ptsd, long and short term memory, depression, agitation, degenerative disk disease, migraines, and more. Pictures clearly show the airbag did not deploy correctly on the right side of the steer wheel. How do I sue gm.
On February 10, 2010, while traveling west on 14th street another driver in the left lane entered my lane (right lane), and I slammed on brakes to stop from hitting the other drivers vehicle. Despite the fact it was a sunny very cold day outside and the streets were dry the brakes on my vehicle locked up as though I have an anti-locking braking system, which I don't have on my car. The steering wheel became none responsive and my car ended up jumping the curb and hitting a telephone pole on the front driver side of the car. There is damage to the driver side headlight and a dent in the same area in the shape of the pole; furthermore, the airbag never deployed. The car is currently at a gm body shop being repaired by the other drivers insurance; however, in light of the recent gm recall about an issue with the steering wheel I am bringing my accident to your attention just in case the issues are related.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt. The air bag warning light has illuminated since the vehicle was purchased. The contact has taken the vehicle to the dealer and they reset the air bag sensor and replaced the seat belt sensor. Three months after the repairs were made, the air bag light came on. The dealer stated that the vehicle was repaired. A month and a half later the air bag light came back on. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer again and the diagnostic test indicated that failure was caused by the wiring in the ignition and the air bag coil which were repaired. Three months later the failure recurred. The contact is concerned that in the event of a crash, the air bag will not deploy. The failure mileage was 37,000.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt. The contact was driving approximately 25 mph when another vehicle crashed into the front of the contact's vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop where the dealer advised that the height of the other vehicle probably did not trigger the air bag sensor. The VIN was not available.
June 29th, 2008, my wife was driving our 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt on a single 2-lane country road when she had to avoid a head-on collision with an on-coming pickup. She went into the ditch and hit a tree and fencepost at approx. 45 mph. Eventhough the front end bumper was destroyed from the contact with the tree and post (both head-on directly), the airbags in the car failed to deploy. Neither gm or my insurance company (since the vehicle is totaled) is interested in investigating further.

The current mileage was 19,000 and failure mileage was 7,000.
I had a front impact collision with my new 2007 chevy Cobalt. I was traveling 40 to 45 mph when the impact occured. My airbags failed to deploy. By the grace of god I walked away from the accident unharmed but my car was totaled. I contacted gm and they had an engineer inspect my car and determined the airbag should have gone off but since the car was a total loss and no one was hurt they will not do anything about it.
