4 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 12/07/2014

On 12/7/14, my power steering went out while I was backing up. When I turned the car off and back on a few minutes later, the power steering came back. I took the car to the dealership on 12/12/14 and was told the steering column was faulty and paid about $830 for it to be replaced. On 2/25/15, the power steering went out again. I took it back to the same dealership and was told that the steering column that was put in two months before was also faulty. It was replaced free of charge since the original repair was still under warranty. Eleven days later, on 3/8/15, the power steering went out again. This time when I took it back to the dealership, I was told the batter cables were lose and that the battery failed the load test, and that this is what was causing the power steering to go out this time, but they still insisted that it was the steering columns the first two times. I was told if I paid for the battery, the labor would be free. I had the battery replaced elsewhere and have filed a complaint with gm's corporate customer service center and the bbb. I will also file a complaint with the az attorney general's office since the issue has not been rectified.

The power steering went out and the car became extremely hard to steer. This has happened at multiple times since the initial time. I called regarding the recall for power steering and found out that the previous owner had the power steering motor replaced at 58,400 miles. This is a huge safety concern, and the power steering going out twice on this model is indicative that the real problem was not addressed. The power steering column may be to blame for this continuous safety concern. The real core problem was not address by gm in their recall.

11 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2009

Had a knocking sound coming from under hood. Lasted about two months. Took vehicle in before warranty expired and they said I had a faulty steering column. They tried to say it was possibly caused by my worn tires but they still have at least two months left before I would have to replace them. Because part was covered under warranty they replaced the steering column (pt#19209155) and I paid the $100 deductible. I had other problems with steering on the freeway but figured it was the road conditions. Non lead to a accident but at least one time I almost hit another car. Hopefully there will be a recall on this because this could lead to a very fatal accident. I will never use this vehicle to transport any of my children.
