The air bag light keeps saying needs maintenance and the motor has no compression.
Air bag light has been on for a long time . But I noticed a puddle of gas under car and had to take it in to get fixed I have read on here many problems with this same issue hopefuuly it will be a recall.
This has happened twice, my car wont start and the anti theft on the dash comes on but there's nothing on to kill the battery. Also sometimes while driving my service air bag light comes on but goes off right after. Last thing is my power locks would go crazy just locking and unlocking either when the car was off or in motion.
While I was starting the car my air bag lights started blinking on and off. While traveling on city streets the air bags was also blinking on and off.
My airbag light started randomly going on and off. I noticed that it often occurred when someone was sitting in the passenger seat. I also noticed that when someone was sitting in the passenger seat the indicator often indicated that no one was sitting there. Then after about a week of this occurring, the light airbag remained on at all times and the indicator stated that no one was sitting in the passenger seat even when someone was. I then took my vehicle to the dealership and they advised that it was the passenger airbag presence sensor and that it needed to be replaced. They advised that it would cost over $1,000. So obviously I told them that I could not afford it at this time. This is a major safety concern and should be an immediate recall. I have seen and read hundreds of complaints about this exact same issue on two different Cobalt forums, the NHTSA website, and on various other web sites that I accessed through google. It is obviously a manufacturers problem and it needs to be corrected before someone is killed due to the negligence of Chevrolet. I am obviously going to get this fixed when I get the money even with out a recall, but I thing this needs to be investigated as soon as possible and I am willing to let whom ever use/look at my vehicle as a starting point. Nhtsa or Chevrolet please contact me so we can get this process started before someone gets seriously hurt or killed. Im not sure on the mileage when this problem originated a few months ago but, I believe it was around 80,000.
The airbag indicator light flashes intermittently.
I started my car and went to take off and the air bag light came on. There was a couple of incidences where I had a passenger and the airbag light came on to service airbag. I've read in multiple places where this occurrence has happened and the manufacture should fix this.
My airbag light is on for my passenger seat. I have taken to a dealership and they said the specific code is not covered by a recall. They said my passenger presence module needs replaced.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnostic testing who could not diagnose the problem. The contact stated that the failure started after repairs under NHTSA recall 14v047000(air bags, electrical system). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt. While operating the vehicle, the check engine sensor light illuminated and the vehicle experienced mis-firing. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the valve in the number two cylinder was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired. Also, the contact indicated that the air bag light would randomly turn on while operating the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 75,000.
I noticed the past week my passenger air bag light was on and no one was sitting there and then this morning 10/02/12 I turn my car on and it says service airbag did some research and its a major safety hazard for my passenger cause it does not work and no protection I also notice that the 2006 Cobalts and 2007 Cobalts have had this problem I personally have a friend that has a 2006 Cobalt LS that has this problem mine is a 09 Cobalt lt iv already had to pay 500 to fix my fuel pump module which they just put a recall on it this past month and I cant get my money back so before I go out and spend 300 to fix my air bag I would like to see if I can get it fixed for free thank you.

The service air bag light comes on intermittently. It is nothing specific that does it. I could be going 10mph or 70mph on the highway and it just all of the sudden comes on. It is on anywhere from 5-30 seconds each time and then goes off and this happens multiple times per day. Unable to know what's wrong because if its not on when its brought in there is nothing they can do.
