2 Air Bag On-off Switch problem

Failure Date: 09/10/2014

Vehicle has service air bag light on, light goes off and on, has been doing this at all speeds, but never stays on for more than a minute. Car had this light on when I purchased this car from a Dodge dealer in Dec. 2011, and they said that they repaired it, but it was not reported in detail to gm warranty service, so they lied. Now car needs air bag repairs, not covered by any warranty, and it will cost over $900. 00, and car only has 88,464 miles on it. This was told to me by a Chevrolet dealer who is doing the ignition switch recall for my car. I don't have that kind of money, as I'm still making car loan payments for the next 4 years. I think this is awful, air bags and sensors should last longer than 88,464 miles. My 1997 Saturn never had air bag problems, and it ran until 297,336 miles. Awful, too expensive to repair!!!!!, no assistance with paying for airbag repair, and can't sell car unless it is repaired. The Dodge dealer who sold me the car should be held liable, as they did work to get the service air bag light off, when I purchased the car from them. They hid the information from me, when I purchased the car. Air bags do not need ongoing service.

The dealer stated the parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the delay. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the ignition switch was loose. The failure mileage was unknown.

4 Air Bag On-off Switch problem

Failure Date: 01/28/2014

Multiple recall failures: 2009 chevy Cobalt lt ignition switch failure, airbags failure to deploy, power steering failure, brake failure, gear box failure. Ignition switch failure cause vehicle to stall, vehicle was then hit in rear by 16 wheel tractor trailer, thus causing driver to be knocked in the back sit of vehicle, injury to head, to inside of mouth, braking of teeth on both sides of mouth, neck injury, right and left shoulder injury, back injury, and never damage to right shoulder plate, driver is in continous pain since this accident approx 11 months. Driver still in possession of vehicle because he is totaled disable, and does not know what to do about what correct measures to take. Nationwide insurance declared vehicle a totaled loss, request driver to give them power of attorney rights to pay off current lien holder. Owner felted uneased to do so, therefore has continously paid on vehicle for 11 months and has been unable to drive vehicle. I need help, I once worked for region iv ntsb agency here in atlanta I have never felt so victimized in my life by gm and nationwide. I really need direction and have sought legal. But gm conpensation program will not communicate with consumers lawyer per protocols for compensatory damages.

5 Air Bag On-off Switch problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2012

Vehicle's automatic door locks began to engage and disengage on their own, possibly locking the steering column as vehicle entered into a curve. Caused driver to loose control go into ditch, bounce out of ditch and log roll the vehicle. Air bags did not deploy. Door locks were still going up and down several hours later at the vehicle impound yard and was observed by the police officer and noted in his report. Additional. This problem is much bigger than beleived! I have a 2011 hhr and have had the ignition switch turn off when I have dropped the adjustable steering column to the down position while moving. I have a heavy keyring and when I brought it up to the dealership they told me the keyring was the problem. My other daughter's 05 impala had the same problem when she hit a bump.
