The fuel lines have corroded causing a hazardous gas leak by the fuel tank which could have caused a severe fire and or explosion while driving. I noticed a gas smell in the vehicle when parked and upon further investigation recognized a gas drip by the the corroded fuel lines and gas traveling down the lines from the leak. Thankfully I noticed this before a fire would have occurred. Had I had a disability with no sense of smell or covid19 and no sense of smell this issue could have gone unnoticed possibly causing a fatal hazard should the car have caught on fire while driving. My garage could have also caught fire. Stainless steel should not rust and this is clearly a dangerous defect by the manufacturer. This matter should be addressed and a recall addressed.
The first time I smelled gas and found the gas line leaking from a bracket holding the gas lines was about 2 years ago (2018), cost $100 dollars to get fixed. Now there is another gas leak farther back near the gas tank coming from another bracket. I have never had another vehicle give this many problems with gas line leaks. I drive the car almost every day, it rarely sits for more than 2 days in a row.
I filled up tank with gas ,noticed gas smell twice did not see anything ,starter skipped a beat a couple times when staring early in the morning,, didnt notice gas smell. Charged car for 6 hours on charger. Next morning I drove about 8 miles after sitting for an hour I went back to car and noticed puddle of liquid ,smelled liquid ,, it was gas , seen it dripping rapidly in big drops ,called aaa got there hour later and it had stopped. Dripped behind rear driver side door in front of rear tire. Had it towed read alot of these same exact problems with Cobalts and other vehicles same circumstances but some not cover by a recall ,fuel lines and pumps etc. . All the cars should be fixed with this problem. Anytime.
The vehicle has fuel leak when ever the car is running. Notice this first time when oil change was done. It drips from the fuel tank down to the driver side rear end in front of the real driver side wheel. When inquired over the internet found numerous same problem being cited by the Cobalt owners. Surprised that it has not been recalled due to the potential severe consequnce of fire hazard.
There is a gas leak, its from the plastic fittings connecting lines and tank.
Car has terrible start first thing in the morning. It went from washington to gulfport mississippi. Started about a week ago smelled gas. Looked under fuel tank and found a sizeable puddle or fuel which I assume is pressurizing as it sits and then has to pressurize the fuel system again when it starts. It's practically a bomb with wheels and my daughter sits in it. It will be fine starting for about 10 minutes if you shut it off and crank it after it will do that all over again.

Fuel tank is leaking gas. Strong gas smell. After letting car warm up, noticed significant leaking under car. After refueling, noticed leaking under car; examination of actual fluid on ground under car smelled strongly of gasoline. Car leaks when stationary, or over bumps, rough road.
There is a smell of fuel and seepage seems to coming from the top of the fuel tank. This just started and is really noticeable when the car is parked.
If my tank is quite full it leaks gas toward the drivers side, I have a small puddle where ever it sits. I first noticed a strong odor than couple days later a puddle of gas it probably does it also while driving to. . Dont have camera to take pictures.
Fuel line leaking right at gas tank. Smelled fuel when I stopped for the last week or so. Finally look under and lines are completely corroded. Looking online this seems to be a very very common issue that is very famous and expensive to fix.
Fuel smell and found the bottom of the gas tank wet and dripping, forming a puddle of fuel underneath the car. The leak only happens when the car is started and running. Overnight the fuel has evaporated from the floor and doesn't begin leaking again until car is started and running.
Leaking fuel lines above exhaust. Where the fuel line comes down out of the tank and runs forward, there is a holder that was wearing on the fuel line and caused a hole and a leak.
When parked I keep smelling strong gas smell. I started to worry as it got stronger and stronger so I looked under the car and found gas leaking down the back side and front side of the gas tank. Definitely not a good thing and I see where they have recalled my same year model from other states. I live close to fla which could be reason for my fuel system to fail from temperature. I feel that it isn't safe at all and I have to have this car for work and travel but cannot afford to have it fixed due to gm not producing up to standards. I have no choice but to drive it and hope that nothing catches fire.
Fuel leak on fuel lines from tank to engine.
My daughter is driving a car with a fuel leak that is has a recall in some states for the problem but not in mine. Recall # 090226 , how is that possible, please help! I think I have to work as hard for my money as other states, and I am certain my car cost as much to purchase as in other states. Her car has fuel dripping between the drivers door and left rear wheel. Appears to be starting around top of tank location.
The fuel lines that are wrapped in the heat protective tape on the driver rear side just as they turn up to go to the fuel tank are rusted out because the heat shield protector holds water on the fuel lines and now mine are rusted out and leaking fuel all over the ground by my exhaust. This is a major issue that hasn't been addressed with many chevy products. Now it's going to cost about $600 to replace the lines. Chevy is not taking responsibility with this defect and costing people money and putting lives in danger by having a leak prone line right by the hot exhaust. Please take action on this. I had at least a gallon spray out while driving and it continued to leak when parked.
While driving the car shutdown. I pulled over and smelt gas. I looked underneath and I noticed the fuel lines leaking gas onto the exhaust. After looking the closely the fuel sending line has a hole inside the clip, behind the gas tank, holding the brake lines.
I started smelling gasoline while driving. I parked the car. I came out of my office hours later and there was a puddle of gasoline under the driver's side rear tire. I drove home and watched as the fuel gauge went down from a half tank to empty in the time it took me to drive 4 miles from work to home (1 mile in the city and 3 on the highway). This seems to be a problem but my car is not under the recall service because it is in the wrong state. There is a recall on the 2009 Chevrolet Cobalts for this issue but mine is not a part of it and should be obviously.
Metal gas lines running from tank to engine rusted & rotted away at every clamp literally dumping fuel on the ground.
The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt. While stationary, the fuel tank leaked fuel onto the ground. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 127,000.
Strong fuel odor coming from vehicle. Fuel dripping from bottom of car near fuel tank. Found fuel lines rotting and causing leaks on multiple sections starting at the fuel tank up to the engine. Protective heat wrap holding moisture and causing lines to rot.
Car starts hard, smells like gas inside and out. Wet with gas near gas tank when running. After sitting a long while, no gas is apparent on gas tank.
The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt. While the vehicle was stationary, fuel leaked from the fuel tank onto the ground. The fuel leak came from under the driver's seat of the vehicle. It was diagnosed that the fuel line disintegrated and the vehicle needed new fuel lines and a new fuel tank. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 88,000.
I am experiencing a very strong gas smell and now it takes multiple times to start. I am seeing a puddle of gas just below the rear passenger seat on the ground when the car sits for a while. My mechanic says that he is also going to have to drop the fuel tank to fix this. I see that other states have this as a recall and am wondering why ohio isn't included in the recall. It seems like the right thing to do since it is the same model and year as the recall in other states and it is obviously a related issue!.

Gas tank leaking.
Wanted to change oil; had smelled gasoline from time to time; closer inspection showed leak at fuel tank area. Could not drive due to risk of injury to family, including two-year-old child.
Very strong odor of gas inside and outside the car when sitting still. I put the car on ramps and found out there is a gas leak coming from the gas tank area. I looked up online and the recall for this car, regarding the same recall for other cars of this make and model, isn't included. The gas leak is very close to the exhaust system in this car. There is no doubt in my mind that this is the same problem other cars of this make being recalled is the same problem this car is experiencing.
Fuel leaking from area of gas tank, strong odor of gas in compartment.
