Takata recall the problems I'm having with my car is that the locks keep unlocking and locking and won't let my car startup. It locks me out and when I put the key in the switch it won't crank and the only way that I'm able to get the key out of the switch is if I jump it off. I was at home when it happened parked.

My Cobalt illuminates the check engine light as well as the theft light and displays engine power reduced happens multiple times first time it started was in 12/2017. The car was purchased in 2011 always serviced and repaired by dealer ship. The car stalls at stop signs lights or when you pull into a parking lot. Engine light comes and goes. Lights dim and flicker the gauges jump up and down in the dash. After you shut the car off the gauges in the instrument cluster jump adn make ticking noise. When there is no engine light present the car idles rough and acts like its going to die till you start driving then its fine. The issue with the brakes are when you to press them the pedal will depress all the way but its like it dont meet with the pad, this problem is intermittent as well. Obd2 codes have been p0641 p0017 p0651 p0573 current codes stored are p0340 p0300 p0341. I've had this car at the dealer and multiple shops on multiple occasions now without resolution. It's becoming more of a problem than anything especially when your on the interstate and it dies or coming up to a stop light/ sign, a car pulls out or an animal and your brakes fail to stop you! it is a very scary situation. The car does have high miles but I have not had any problems till December of 2017 mileage is 203,602 all maintenance is performed under recommended mileage.

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt. The contact attempted to change the headlamp bulb because the bulb shield fell off. The contact had not noticed the shield was missing until he noticed a glare in the bulb. The contact stated that there were two light bulbs affected due to the reflector failing without warning. On September 19th, 2016 I bought a new two pack of sylvania 3157 ll long life lamps from wal-mart and used one to replace my old left rear blinker light which had burned out. The lights are specified as valid replacement lights for the 2006 chevy Cobalt. On December 26th, 2016 I noticed that the same left rear blinker light was not working again. On December 27th, 2016 I again attempted to replace the blinker light unsuccessfully. On this day I noticed that the plastic on the bulb had burnt and melted at the bulb's connection point onto the metal contacts of the blinker assembly (see attached photos). First I experienced fule excel ration. Called manufacture told me I was experiencing a known problem but my VIN was not on the recall list. Took it in for ignition recall shortly after my head lights dim or one goes out then it comes back on then the other one will go out or dim took it to machanic they fixed it but it is now doing the same thing then the power steering sundenly went out almost had a collison light never came on. Restarted the car everything worked then power steering light came on took it to machcanic turned the car off to have him check it he pulled it in to the shop and light was not on. So he told me I had to bring it back when light came on in order to run a test. Light never came back on then 5 days ago lost power steering again almost had an accident. If I am at a complete stop in traffic or at a red light the car will excilerate with out me touching the gas when I break to keep from hitting the vehicle in front of me the rear end will fish tail. I am 60 years old this car has almost caused me to have several accidents. It is unsafe the manufacturer admitted when I took it in for the ignition switch that there were issues with the promlems I have been experiencing but my VIN was only on the ignition recall. They told me the dealer would fix them at my expence. I get 950. Dollars a. Month and have cancer. I have no means to pay for the defects in 2012 my daughter bought me the car and paid 10,000. 00 for it. I have no other means of transportation to my doctors ect. Please help me. While driving at night my head light will dim or one will completely go out. Causing me to almost miss the exit and run off an embankment.

Clear coat on the front bumper is coming off really bad. The paint seems to stay on the bumper but progressively flakes off more every day. It starts as a small spot then expands like a virus. My head lights will not go off unless I unplug my battery, and my signal light won't go off the chavy dealer claims not to know what's going on with it unless I pay them $200 ,first. Its been about 30 days now that this has been going on.

I took my car to a repair shop after hearing a strange noise while driving to work. After an analysis, I was informed that the engine had no oil in it and the noise I was hearing was called "engine knock. " I was also informed that the engine was completely shot due to lack of oil. My oil light on my dash never came on to alert me of any problems with my oil. When I start my car, the oil light along with all the other emergency lights (I. E. Traction control, check engine. . . ) light up as usual and then go off, so I know the actual light works but I think there may be a sensor issue.

I have been calling sutliff chevy in harrisburg PA a numberous number of times. Since they replaced my key system the car now just shuts off half the time and the other half the auto lights will not shut off causing the battery to die and leaving me stuck. When I call the service dept they blow me off , I have to leave messages and don't get a return call. I never had any problems with this car since I bought it new and one recall and the car is a piece of crap and so it the assistance I am getting. While driving around a corner lost all power and control of car. Therefore I was unable to steer the car and hit the back of a parked car.

While making a left turn, the car felt as if it was sliding and hit a guardrail. Then, slide alongside it. That impact propelled my car across the street and it collided with a guard-wall, on the other side of the street, totaling the vehicle.

My car has been mildly having problems when you would stop at a light or pull into a parking spot it acts like it wants to cutoff. I got the letter on the recall and it definitely gave me anxiety driving the car especially since I have to travel 180 miles quite often for my kids. Also noticed that my car was not acting right with the two keys they gave me sometimes it would start and sometimes it locked up. But not every time. About two months after that I went to lunch and my key got locked in the ignition and the car would not start. Figuring I trust be the battery I went bought a new battery but the car still wouldn't start. I had it towed to gm dealership and they told me it coded for the ignition switch and the fuse box. But then called me back and said it was the fuse box and the body control module and the fuel pressure censor. I tried to trade it in and the value of a car I bought just a year and a half ago for 11,999 is now only worth 3000. 00 even to the maker of the car I would be stuck paying on a car that is unsafe still and makes it to where I cannot get a new car because of the amount I still owe on the vehicle.

2008 Cobalt lighting lever for contunous high beams flickered lights from on to completly off while driving the issue came back again a year later but stayed permanently. I have low beams and high beams but only if I hold lever back can I use high beams.

I am the very unhappy driver of a 2008 chevy Cobalt with 4 recall repairs to date. I reported noticing problems with the power steering, struts and interior dashboard lights as early as sept 2010, while having routine service done to my Cobalt. (the interior dash digital read out lights have always given misinformation and would dim on a regular basis. ) I've recently been experiencing the power steering totally going out on my car (once on June 25, 2014 and again on sept 4, 2014) which makes it practically impossible to steer my car. I've been involved with these recall issues since 2010 and have followed gm's instructions to have the repairs done, only to have continuing problems with the cars performance. It's not only a inconvenience, but is stressful and dangerous to continue driving this vehicle. I've requested to have gm help me get into another car more than once over the past few years, but have been denied. Now I've been told that gm has implemented a new "buy back program" for drivers such as myself and have requested they get me out of this vehicle and into another car, but again, have not been contacted concerning my request. . I can not and do not want to be without a car to drive and feel that I deserve to have my car replaced by general motors at no cost to myself.

I was stopped at a red signal for a few minutes. Suddenly, a university of buffalo student hit my car from the rear at full force. He was texting and when he got out of the car he was still texting. He admitted it was his fault because he was not looking at the road and was texting on his phone. I called the police and obtained a police report. The air bags did not work. I bought my car new, every since I have had it they have been a problem. First the outside tempture didnt work so I took it back to the same place I bought it from which is a hour drive one way & they said they replaced it. Next the doors started leaking air so I took it back to the same place they took all day but spose to have fixed that problem. Now the rubber seals on both back doors keeps falling off finally fixed them. Total upset because they fixed one thing and messed nother up. I start taking my car to rameys, were they fix the outside temputer which the other placewas spose to fix. At less than 35,000miles the roterhad to be turned. I take it for a oil change explain that the speed and tack hand moves on it own you when the engine is cut off & they said they didn't see it do anything. I take it back to the rameys for the next oil change and at this time the recall had been issued on the steering & I told them that sometimes its difficult to steer & again they say nothing is wrong well as time has gone by it is getting worse. Now the doors are all sticking. I got out of my vechile & noticed my light were still on, they never turned off intil I twisted the nob that worked for a little bit then it got to were they wouldnt even go off if you twisted the nob so my husband took out the fuse out now I dont have anything but bright lights. A few weeks later the signal lights stop make a sound I thought that my bulb was blown so I checked them all & they all worked but the odd thing is sometimes when I am driving they will make the sound. Ater going to rameys& getting the answer nothing wrong, I took it to a privete garage were he thought it was the swich itself, he installed a new one & that didnt solve the problem is board in the fuse box . The speaker on the drivers side dont work either & the trunk slams down when you let go of the trunk door.

Description of incident is the front left lamp assembly of my 2005 chevy cobolt is that is has condensation in it and gm will not fix it free. It's a defect in the parts and there should be a recall bulletin no 01-08-42-001e has been written up.
