Noticed first the cruise control had stopped working, then was informed by a friend that I had no brake lights. While searching for replacement parts online, I noticed a recall notice for my vehicle from NHTSA(09v310000), but that parts will not be available until June 2010. I contacted Chevrolet and was told that there are no open recall notices on my vehicle. At this time I have not replaced the defective part.

Cruise control on my 2005 chevy Colorado stopped working, when researching the problem I found my brake lights were also not working, there is supposed to have been a recall about this, however my dealership - lithia Chevrolet and george gee pontiac, both say thier part was already replaced on the vehicle and they refuse to fix it again, thus I am stuck without brake lights, obviously the replacement part doesn't fix the problem.
- the contact took vehicle to dealer for recall 06030 repairs. The contact made an appointment ,and when she went to the dealer, the part had not come in. The dealer told her he would call her when the part arrived, which should have been within seven days. The recalled partwas the brake lamp switch. The vehicle currently has 25,000. The contact did not know if the brake light was presently functioning correctly.
All brake lights failed, they are no longer working.

2005 Chevrolet Colorado - cruise control stopped working. - my son has the same vehicle as me and had the same problem. He said the service person at dealership told him his brake lights were out as well. - we checked my brake lights and they were not working as well. - there were no lights on the dash to indicate the brake lights were out.
1- the cruise control stopped working. Drove the vehicle several day without it working. 2- scheduled it into joe johnson Chevrolet Aug. 18th. Repair person reported to me that the brake lights were also not working. So I was driving the vehicle around for several days without brake lights ( very unsafe ). 3- the repair shop replaced stop lamp switch. 4- next day I spoke with my father who also has the same vehicle. I told him what had happened with my vehicle. He said his cruise control had not been working for a while. We check his brake lights and they are not working. 5- obviously this is a huge safety issue that needs to be investigated.
