Rear leaf spring mounts and frame rusting through causing a safety hazard. Chevrolet doesn't offer a repair part nor does the aftermarket. The internet is ripe with other owners experiencing this or similar issues.
While under vehicle replacing rear u joints saw rust on frame with massive hole not sure if this vehicle is safe to drive I have 2 children? what options do I have?.
Driving on us 441 engine shut off and the pass lock light came on. Had to steer off of road with no power. Restarted after stopped and happened again coming back up mountain but no where to pull off road nearly hit by another car. Dealer says this is a security system tied to the ignition switch and fuel when the car is started but shouldn't shut off fuel while driving. Admitted this is a common problem they experience though. If the pass lock system fails to work as designed and shuts off the fuel supply to the engine while driving it's very dangerous. Should be a recall to replace the security system with a system that works as designed.
The ignition system fail and don't let the car start even we the original key and don't let start the auto for 10 minutes and so on and this is happening to every Colorado owner that I now.
The a/c blower motor stop running on speed selections 1,2 and 3. After a few seconds it starts running. On speed selection4 it runs ok. I was told the rheostat is faulty.
I am going to get gas and go in side to pay and it wont start cranks no adise I had the same 5 times befor the midway Chevrolet fix it a bad ignition switch part #63779 o a bill for the parts $416. 74 the theft system would work and it would stop working it is a switch for the gas I think I need to be pay back.
I bought this pick up truck from local dealer 2010. It stared making trouble very early days,shaking and missfiring,engine check light showed up,I took to local auto shops and they told me it has a major engine problem by the manufacture(cheve)and missfiring the engine and showing an internal leak,causing all problem,I spend a lot of money but not able to fix,it was failing on smog test as well. Finally I took to local cheve dealer,they asked me to pay $150. For diagnose,I agreed to pay. . Fortunately dealer found in the system that this model truck is in the list of engine trouble,all the symptoms my truck was showing,but gm never send me recall notice,I could have killed by big accident as it was stalling on the freeway with lot of problem. . . Gm misslead me and covered this defected truck and model,and I am sure there are many others like me. . Pl invetigate this issue and update me. . . . . . Thanks. . . . . Nazir abid.
