Rear brake lights flash or sometimes don't come on while pressing the brake pedal. While driving at night dash cluster goes black cant see speedometer, or anything on instrument cluster.
Truck electrical cuts off while driving. Instrument panel and radio. Vehicle engine and headlights keep running.
Pass lock security system. While driving my vehicle the pass lock security system shut my vehicle down late at night around 11pm. I was stranded the truck would not start because the lock was showing on the dash gauges. I recently had major open heart surgery and I am 62 years old. I was stuck all night long out in the country here in north central florida and this is bear country here. I had to walk about 8 miles the next morning as there arent many people driving out here that time of day. I thought I was going to die out there in the woods. I was scared to death. I dont carry all my heart medecine with me as I thought I would be gone from home maybe an hour or two at the most. This vehicle has not been able to be started for about 2 months because of this security system. It cost me a fortune to have it towed the next day $250 and have had 3 chevy mechanics with their diagnostic machines tell me nothing wrong with vehicle except pass lock system and it could not be reset by them,at a cost of $125 each. Now the dealer says tow it to them and they will put their computer on it to for $125 but wont guarantee they can reset it either. I will never buy a nother chevy product ever again or any vehicle with this type of security system on it. I just thank god I was alright after all this crap happened to me.
Tl the contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado. While driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle lost power and shut off without warning. The contact called for assistance and had the vehicle towed to her residence. The vehicle restarted the next day. The failure recurred and the vehicle restarted after a couple of minutes. The failure recurred several more times and the vehicle restarted each time. The contact called tom gibbs Chevrolet at 386-206-8097 (located at 5850 e, FL-100, palm coast, FL 32164) and scheduled a diagnostic appointment. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.
Tl the contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated that the rear brake lights failed to illuminate when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact also stated that the rear brake lights had been replaced eight times by phil smith Chevrolet (1640 north state road 7, lauderhill, FL 33313). The dealer refused to repair the vehicle again. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was repaired elsewhere. The approximate failure mileage was 134,074.
Firstly the passlock system is a huge issue, if the parts in the system ignition system break down or trip you can be stuck high and dry on a whim. Passlock system is prime reason for my worries when driving my truck will cut fuel out and shut down and stall when I'm driving or need to start up my truck again also the blower resistor and cable are faulty as are other electrical systems but the blower motor resistor is outright a fire hazard that can melt or burn out. Gm needs to stop fucking around with passlock system and other issues I will not be driving or owning another gm in my lifetime after my troubles with this passlock system nobody should be having to deal with this problem 3rd party or have repeated service or parts installed to silence this issue for a time. Just think of having been stuck high and dry threw not fault of your own outside the passlock system there are quite a few very very negative problems many have had with these 2 systems above I would love gm to pay me for missed work days and personal expenses for having had to fix mend and make this system work as I stright up bought a new ecm/pcm tuned it removed passlock because the risk and issues were to great nobody needs this problem hanging over their heads this issue pisses me off as I'd spent days doing relearn procedures 40 min per procedure several times until one stuck as per instructions gm wont even respond or not fuck this up if you need service too I will not be owning any more gm or chevy again. If you need to fix this system just remove it. So sad dealers are greedy and gm is too rather then make things right with long standing issues and complaints passlock system and blower motor and a few other things need recalls no ifs ands or butts this is exactly how you will go bankrupt again fucking customers who paid for your broken sales pitch to buy your snake oil.
Will not start,to hot to start!!!!!.
Passlock truck willnot start only sitting for fifteen minutes ,had it replaced once 12/27/2013 now its doing it again I need this truck because my wife is verry sick but I cant depend on it it has under 34,000 miles on it.
My brake lights all went out at the same time. I was driving on the interstate and had to stop suddenly. The tractor trailer behind me nearly rear ended me. The cruise control also went out. I had this issue repaired under recall number 06030 five years ago. It is identically the same, yet Chevrolet says they will not repair it due to mileage and vehicle age. This is extremely dangerous.
Hazard light stuck on, prevent use of signal light. When disabled signal light not operable.
Some times the truck will not start for ten min. I have had the truck 3 times stop running and had to coast off the road. It restarted after sitting without repair.
Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated that while driving at 15 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The steering wheel seized. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 137,000. Aw.
The ignition system fail and don't let the car start even we the original key and don't let start the auto for 10 minutes and so on and this is happening to every Colorado owner that I now.
The a/c blower motor stop running on speed selections 1,2 and 3. After a few seconds it starts running. On speed selection4 it runs ok. I was told the rheostat is faulty.
Truck will just shut off and not crack. Passlock module will not let it crank. Around every 100 cranks it will shut engine off and not let it crank. I have done research and numerous people have had this problem with these truck and Chevrolet company will not do anything about this. This is dangerous it has even shut off while driving vechicle. Can you please make them fix this on these trucks.
Have experienced problems with my truck's pass lock/anti-thief switch. The truck will not start and it takes ten minutes before the truck restarts. I had only about 22,000 miles on the truck when the problem first occurred. This issue continues to be a problem. The truck on has 26,000 miles. This problem could easily become a safety issue if truck shuts off in traffic. There should be a recall. Does someone have to die before a recall to happen?.
As I see I am one of may people with this issue, I am having almost daily problems with the passlock/no start for the past few weeks. This happened one other time back in June 2012 but has not done so since. Then about 3 weeks ago, it started doing it daily. I attempt to start it (whether it has been sitting for hours or only a few mins), but it only will crank not start. I have to sit in the truck for about 10 mins with the key turned to the on position and then it will start. This is ridiculous. With so many people having this problem, gm should be forced to put out on recall on the passlock/security and fix these known problems!! this could be very dangerous if something were to happen where you need to move your vehicle in case of an emergency and it won't start.
No brake lights. Fuse is not blown.
Vehicle air blower fan for heat/air conditioner periodically stops working on settings 1,2,and 3. Fan continues to work on setting 4.
Gm passlock system in my 2006 chevy Colorado fails daily leaving me stranded for 10-15 minutes until it resets itself. If engine stalls in a turn lane, it creates a hazardous situation.
This vehicle has an intermittent crank no start issues, as I have researched these vehicles have problems with a security system known as passlock, as I see there is known issues with this faulty system, you attempt to start it, but it only will crank not start. The only thing you can do is turn the ignition key to the on position for at least 10 minutes and let the security re-learn codes before you can start the truck. I think g. M. Should be forced to fix there known problems with this, as it could be dangerous based on a situation where you need to move your vehicle in case of an emergency and it wont start.
The a/c heating fan blower does not work on speeds 1,2, or 3, only on speed 4. After doing some research, I found it is related to the fan resistor burning up. I inspected my truck and found the same problem. The plastic is burnt and has started to melt. This can cause a fire in the cab and be vary dangerous. There are numerous complaints here, so I feel this should be investigated.
Vehicle fails to start after shutoff. Passlock failure. Happens regularly.
The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated that the abs and traction control lights illuminated, the left turn signal failed intermittently and the heater blower switch only work on the fourth setting. The vehicle had not been inspected or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000 and the current mileage was approximately 44,000.
Fan control only works on fan speed 4. Positions 1 thru 3 do not work. After research on internet found the information on the grounding block for the fan control circuit. Checked the connector for this and found corrosion and slightly darkened connector due to heat buildup due to the corrosion. Also you can get the fan control to work on all settings if you move the wires around on the connector so it makes good contact but this is only a temporary fix. This will be come worse as time goes by and if the heat buildup is high enough it could very possibly result in a fire in the cabin of the vehicle. . . There are a high number of complaints about this issue and this should be investigated for a possible recall.
I could have written this complaint six months ago, because this problem has been going on for at least a year and is now becoming more frequent. My 2006 Chevrolet Colorado will turn over but will not crank. I wait exactly 10 minutes and then it will start. This is now happening about twice a week. When I've taken it to the dealer at least three times, the dealer could not replicate the problem. On the third time I had it at the dealer, I went to pick up the truck after being told, once again, that they could find nothing wrong; when I tried to start it, the same thing happened. By the time they rolled the computer to it, the 10 minutes had passed and they, again, could find nothing wrong. This is very frustrating and stressful because the truck is fairly new and has been well taken care of, but I can't depend on it to start. I know other Colorado owners are having the same problem. I would really like to have a solution.
My 2006 Chevrolet Colorado has been at the two different dealerships and the problem is occurring. Problem, is that the motor will turn over but will not start. After 10 minutes the vehicle will turn over and then start. Since the dealer can't replicate no error codes are reported when connected to the computer. This happens intermittently.
06 chevy Colorado vehicle fails to start after shutoff. Passlock failure. Happens regularly. Stopped to fix a tire on the side of the road after changing the tire it would not start. 4am on the side of the road having to wait 10 mins till it rest so I could start it. Happens all the time.
Truck shuts off while driving. Pass lock faults out. I was taking a turn the other day while driving 40 miles per hour when my truck died. This is the third time its happened.
Blower control failure, intermittent. Failure of the controls in the first three levels and at times all levels of the control resulting failure does not allow the windshield to defrost or clear in inclimate weather. Full function may return upon restarting the engine.
Went to dealership in san angelo TX, did diagnostic for engine light being on dealership said problem was p0017 (cam acuator) did not have the money to fix it at the time dealership said it would be ok to drive it as is. Did reasearch online and looked it up on book at auto parts store and p0017 says this "crankshaft position camshaft position correlation - bank 1 sensor b" what ever that means. But now I have major problems I still have that and a few more codes I have p0014 exhaust camshaft position timing over - advanced (bank 1), and p0300 random misfire detected.
I own a 2006 chevy Colorado I had the brake light switch replace due to recall on March 2006 three years later the same problem happen again the brake switch went out. Chevy corp said since the repair/recall was already performed I would have to take it back to the dealer ship to get it look at again and the same part that failed was going to be an out of pocket expense. I don't think I or anyone else having the same problem should have to pay for a defective part. This poses a serious problem because it caused me to loose my brake lights and almost got rear ended four times. This poses a very high danger because when you are driving you do not even know when you loose your brake lights there is no indications or messages from the dash board that your lights are out. This is just an accident waiting to happen hopefully there are no deaths involved. Thank you for taking the time to read this complaint.
The blower motor started to only work on the high setting, 4, all other settings, 1,2,3, were not working, I thought the blower control switch may have been bad. I checked with the dealer, the part to replace the switch is the whole control panel, $200. I wanted to make sure that was the problem before spending the money. I checked on the internet and found this is a common problem with Colorado's. It turns out that the blower motor resistor block and connector are suspect. I did in fact check this out and found evidence of over heating on the connector. I can get the fan control to work properly by moving the wires on the connector to the resistor block. I think this is a safety concern due to the fact that others have reported the connector actually being melted from over heating. Gm does not have any service bulletins or recalls out for this issue. On the internet search there was additional information concerning the grounding block in the engine compartment that has led to several electrical problems. I also found my grounding block to have had some corrosion build up that may have caused problems with my electrical system. My passenger side power window was intermittent. I cleaned the corrosion on the grounding block and everything is working properly.
Intermittent no starts after driving and stopping for 30 min. Or so eventually re starts after several attempts has occurred 6x in 36,000 miles.
P0017 code , mechanical engineering design malfunction. Electrical engineering curcuit (12v) steady design malfunction, actuater part design malfunction. High rate of speed engine rev/or power lose. Low rate of speed rpm not consistent, un controlled rev/power lose. The electronically components powering and monitoring the specific curcuit are faulty. Design is consistently an issue on 2005-2017 make models. Public record can show these engineering design faults. Https://youtu. Be/rh77jbyozse , https://youtu. Be/oa9aangcd64 , https://youtu.
