1 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 09/30/2022

There is a recall for my year of Colorado but not my VIN. The recall is for 04-09 Colorado trucks for a defective brake light switch. Defective switch=no brake lights. My 2007 Colorado brake light switch is defective, therefore I have no brake lights. The switch has been tested and found to be defective, but a search of my VIN shows no recalls. It's obvious that my vehicle and likely many more vehicles are effected than what are covered under this recall.

2 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/13/2015

I was slowing down at an intersection to make a right hand turn. As I made the turn, my engine died. I lost power steering, and my vehicle was extremely difficult to control. I nearly hit another car. My engine restarted immediately after I placed the truck in park. The next day, my truck died again while slowing to enter an intersection. I immediately took it to a mechanic, who replaced the throttle body. On the way home, it died while make a right hand turn. This appears to be a common failing with the Chevrolet Colorado, and is very dangerous as it causes a loss of power steering.

3 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2009

I am the owner of a 2007 Chevrolet Colorado truck. Several times when applying the brake, my foot has also pressed down on the accelerator. (pressing brake and gas peddle at the same time). They are located too close to each other and present a serious safety potential. I have experienced this problem many times since I owned this vehicle, but just recently, have hit a parked car in front of me when I thought I was applying the brake. Would like you to look into this matter and I feel gm is responsible for a poorly designed product that needs immediate correction and has responsibility for the damage to my truck. I have heard other owners of this truck have experienced this same problem.

4 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2007

First thing in the morning when I pull out of my drive way and stop at the light when I hit my brakes they make a high pitch noise and grab so hard that my truck loses control and I hit the dashboard. This has happened since I've had the truck. I bought it brand new. They told me the brakes needed adjusting so they did it but it has done it ever since. I've talked to other people and they all say the same thing. What can I do? is there a recall or have you heard about this problem from other people. I've got 41,000 miles and it has done it from about first month, but I've just lived with it but the other day I almost had a wreck.
