I was on the interstate going about 75mph when a car ahead of me was going slower so I tried to press my brakes to slow down when I applied the brakes my brake pedal would not move causing me to have to use my emergency brake to slow down. No warning light were on my dash then all of a sudden a message came up on my dash saying service brake system and engine oil low stop engine once I was able to completely stop the truck safely I notice I had no oil in my engine so the issue something to do with my brake system and my engine oil had I not known how to use my emergency brake it could have resulted in injuries or even could have been fatal. There should be some kind of recall especially since you have no warning when it happens.
Dash lights for abs, traction control, and stabilitrac go on and off I had it in to the dealership before they said it was nothing it back and I am bringing it in again . I read online that there was a recall but only for certain regions also read this is happening in other areas like with me. Seems dangerous with brakes and traction control and stability. It happens while I am on the road would hate to have myself or someone else hurt if there is something wrong.

Loss of brakes while on slow speed. Brakes become very hard to depress to floor, very dangerous. This happen in 2017 and Nov 2018 as well. Vehicle was in motion. First time happen while driving in the freeway, second time in parking lot.
Alert comes on and power steering fails. Very dangerous. This happened at 70mph in rush our traffic. Stearing is then unresponsive - no power assist. Onstar system describes it as "an issue with the stabilitrak stability control system in your 2015 Chevrolet Colorado crew cab has been detected. " alert goes away after turning the car on off. But you cannot do this on a highway at 70mph. Fault comes again at random times/speeds etc.

Dealing informed us that there was oil contamination in the brake booster. This was reported to gm 1-800-222-1020. In 5 months time we have had this vehicle in for service on the same item. It wasn't until this last time that ron tonkin in portland, oregon called gm and found that bulletin 11-00-89-005 directly discusses the matter. Because this deals with the brakes on the vehicle, this concerns the safety of the individuals.
Truck has 11k miles. When breaking at low speeds, I get a lot of break squeal. This happens driving forward or in reverse. Also, when driving the truck has a hard time shifting and makes a rattling/pinging noise when it is trying to find the correct gear. This happens sporadically when driving slow, fast, uphill, and mostly occurs during acceleration. The shifting issue happens on the freeway as well as city streets.
I have had issues with my brakes since the truck was purchased brand new. I have had it to several dealerships and still keep getting a service brake assist message. After paying for several unnecessary parts which is documented I still have the same problem I have also had a slower speed rear end collision I had both feet on the brake pushing as hard as I could and still coasted into the other vehicle.
When driving around 5 to 8 mph while approaching a turn. Vehicle ran into vehicle in front of me. Pedal went to the floor and when trying to move the vehicle to the side of the road noticed the brake pedal was locked to the floor. Gm engineer diagnosed as power brake booster and bracket. Repairing vehicle at their cost including body damage.
