I am writing to inform you of a safety issue with my 2018 Chevrolet Colorado. When putting the vehicle in park the ignition key will not release. Chevrolet doc# 4811390 documents a fleet wide problem with the Colorado. There has been no re-call issued by Chevrolet to correct this safety issue. I got my Colorado repaired at a cost of $642. 15. I looked at the shifter that was removed from the truck, and found that the micro switch that activates when the vehicle is placed in park had a broken mounting post causing it to be misaligned. I have included pictures of the switch and mounting post.
While driving on city street and highway, transmission shifting at speeds of 25mph,45mph,55mph start vibrating also coming to a stop feel like a rear end bump.
My Colorado has completely shut down/powered off when making a right hand turn. Twice now. I'll be coming to a complete stop, accelerating through the turn and then all of the sudden, without warning, the truck loses all power. No flashing dash, nothing. I have to coast to the shoulder of the road, turn on the hazards, put in park, and restart the vehicle. This has happened twice now. From some online forums I've read, the problem only seems to get worse and has happened to others around 30-40 mph. My car is still under manufacturing warranty for another 500 or so miles. I took my truck into a certified chevy repair shop and after a week of troubleshooting and trying to recreate the problem, they have found "nothing" wrong with the car. If this doesn't get fixed and continues to occur, it's only a matter of time before an accident happens.
My 2018 Chevrolet zr2 started to hard shift between first and second gear. It also sounds like it is running over rumble strips when driving between 50-75mph. When I researched this issue, I found thousands of issues online that matched this problem 100 percent. It is called the chevy shake or the GMC shutter. Mind you, the dealership verified that they have been sent kits from gm to correct these issues. It's called the tcc shudder.
It has an intermittent shudder at no particular speed and a kind of tugging at slow acceleration speeds, like a quick upshift and then down again.
Transmission has a shutter in it. It feels like you are driving on the road edge warnings.
Some time it feels as if you are riding on the rumble strips on shoulder of the road and some times it shifts pretty hard the rumble can happen at anytime.
Tl- the contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated that while driving about 70 mph, the vehicle lost power, downshifted and decelerated to 20 mph. The brake lights went out. The vehicle was pulled into a ditch, to avoid a semi truck that was behind. There was no warning indicator. The contact called the ressler motors dealer (866) 623-5535, located at 8474 huffine ln, bozeman, mt 59718) and was told to bring the vehicle to the shop. The contact stated that the vehicle was unsafe and needed to be towed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 19,214. Fe.
When I drive up hill the vehicle starts to jerk back and forth and has lost of power.
Transmission exhibits intermittent hesitation, jerking and shaking when taking off from a stop and reverse lurching while at highway speeds. The transmission fluid has been changed per the bulletin without success. The truck has been to the dealership 4 times where they typically report "unable to duplicate problem" and therefore do nothing. The latest comment from gm customer care was to blame all these issues on my tires (36000 miles). Loss of power equals a tire issue?.
When coming to stop from any speed the truck downshift hard that it feels like you've been hit from behind. Also when using remote start and you put the key in the ignition and turn it on the transmission does a little jump like the truck is going into gear. We have taken it in for repairs 3 times and the last time we were told the issue could not be fix and that it was normal.
The transmission has a very hard down shift when coming to a stop. Almost feels like you've been hit from behind. The faster you were going before stopping the harder it downshifts. When taking vehicle in we were told there is no fix for this. Also when using remote start once you put the key in the transmission jumps. We were told not to bring the truck back for this issue.
2018 Colorado develops a shutter when moving up an incline from speeds of 45 to 60 mph on highways. Truck has 33,000 miles 10,000 miles I placed on the truck the remainder was while the truck was part of a fleet. Just noticed this shutter at 32,000 miles. Though it was tires , but turned out not to be the issue.
Chevrolet Colorado shaking and shuttering violently while drving. Extremely dangerous. Chevrolet is not listening to all the complaints. Are they waiting on a dangerous deadly accident before they acknowledge and recall the vehicle and repair this dangerous situation!.
Hard shifting when you accelerate in the first two gear and hard downshifting when stopping.
Hard/rough shifting up in gears and same down shifting in gears. Shaking/jerking/shuddering at speeds apx. 20-70 mph. Transmission can down shift so hard, at times, it feels like someone hit your from behind. Wants to stall/slip shifting up in gears. Seems to have too much free play in driveline while sitting still shifting from drive to reverse. Makes a clunk sound.
Shutters and shakes for long periods while driving. Growls and makes a low rumbling while shaking the entire truck. During this vibration which happens all the time its hard to hear the person talking next to you or the radio if its on low. Took to dealer and they said they all do that; it's common with these; nothing to do.
Noticed a "shuddering" in the transmission during light acceleration between 40-60mph around 1500rpm. Whole truck vibrates like you are driving over rumble strips. Only 4150 miles on the truck!.
When turning the key into the ignition position the vehicle will give a random downshift unless the brake pedal is pressed down. Also experiencing a rough downshift between 2nd and 1st gear when stopping as smoothly as possible. Vehicle as been in and out the dealership with the problem still existing.
When the truck is put in auto 4wd mode while parked, instead of the 4wd engaging as necessary, it engages immediately upon motion. This makes the auto 4wd option obsolete. This was first noticed when I used 4wd auto mode for the first time in October 2018. I've notified the dealer but they don't seem to think anything is wrong or not functioning properly.
I had truck stationary parked on a slight incline on a dirt road for about 5 minutes when I heard a odd sound like "arrrrr clunk" and my car rolled down a hill. I had my car on park while on 4low with the engine off. I did not have my parking brake on though but the incline was so slight I feel I did not need it. My truck was not loaded with any extra weight or anything to cause it to roll down the hill. I truly believe I am not at fault for this happening it is a brand new car how could this happen? prior to this I was not doing anything extreme to damage my car in any way. Something must have failed on my truck.
