Three problems related to coolant leaking have been reported for the 1996 Chevrolet Corsica. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Our 96 Corsica began to lose power off and on for several months. Sometimes it would stall. We had the car looked at and found an coolant leak. Coolant was leaking on the ground as well as into the head gasket. The mechanic said that this seems to be a common problem with this car and engine.
Vehicle started overheating and driver smelled coolant. This was due to a leaking head gasket. Head gasket was replaced twice.
Engine head gaskets blewout, causing coolant to leak onto engine. A recall was issued on various models with same engine, however ,this vehicle was not included due to VIN.
