My 2005 Chevrolet Corvette is having the same issues listed in campaign 10v172000 on 04/26/2010. Yet when I enter my VIN number it says no recalls. The "service active handling system" message appears with loss of the feature and loss of brakes lights. The brakes lights come on spontaneously while driving and turn off when the brakes are actually applied. Obviously a dangerous situation. 02.
I am having the exact same issues as described in NHTSA campaign number: 14v251000. Brake lights are staying on when not depressing the brake pedal.
Service active handling light came on the dash and brakes lights were stuck on and after a while they stopped turning on, which almost caused a truck to crash into my car on the highway, the braking system still worked however the lights are erratic, which also caused the car to be stuck in park every time I turn it on now.
This is a recurring but intermittent problem with the exact same symptoms as described for non-corvette gm models in NHTSA campaign number: 14v252000 "the brake lights to illuminate without the brake pedal being pushed; the brake lights to not illuminate when the pedal is pushed; difficulty disengaging the cruise control; moving the gear shifter out of the 'park' position without pushing the brake; and disablement of crash avoidance features such as traction control, electronic stability control, and panic braking assist features. " I have noticed that the problem often initiates when driving over a bump, suggesting an intermittent open or short wiring issue. Then later things will return to normal for days or weeks. Chevy dealer first recalibrated the "brake pedal position sensor" then later replaced and recalibrated it; both non-warranty repairs. The problem continues with the next recommended action to replace the bcm at $700+ cost.
