Fuel leaking from driver side fuel tank running down the side and dripping off safety shield.

Fuel started to leak from passenger side gas tank and fuel smell in cabin.

Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette. The conbtact stated that when he had over a half a tank of fuel he would smell the fumes inside the vehicle. The dealer stokes automotive 86 peach tower rd, clanton, al 35045 (205) 755-3700 told the contact it was out of warranty. The manufacturer had not been contacted yet. The contact thought the issue had to do with the plastic fitting over the primery gas tank malfunctioned and started to leak. The failure mileage was 44. 750 miles. Tf.

My vehicle with 85,000 miles began emmiting a continuous raw gas smell when I refill the fuel tank. Smell is coming from the left side, rear, wheel well. Smell is intense to the point I cannot store inside the garage as I fear a fire hazard and a toxic smell is coming into my house interior. Smell seems to end once fuel level goes below 1/2 full.

Gas tank is leaking a lot.

I filled up my gas tank and when getting back into the car I noticed a strong gas odor, so strong that I had to roll the windows down in the rain. The smell was especially bad when I came to a stop. I just looked online to see if others are having this problem and it seems this is a major issue with the c6 Corvette. This is extremely unsettling, considering many of us park our cars in garages with pilot lights and other sources of spark/flame. I'll be contacting gm.

Overwhelming fuel odor after shutting car off and housing it in the garage or outside. Especially noticeable in summer when ethanol is added to fuel - heavy smell of nail polish remover inside and outside the car. Fuel vapor leak from gas tank requires $2,678. 87 repair. Fuel vapor buildup inside the vehicle and/or garage and house are a fire hazard as well as a health hazard. Other owners have complained of similar problem on the Corvette forum. Chevrolet needs to recall and replace this component on all c6 Corvettes.

I bought this car the other day and on the way home I stopped at the gas station and filled my car up to 3/4 of a tank. When I got home there was a very strong smell of gas coming into the car. I parked in the garage and when I woke up the next morning the smell was unbearable. I have it at the chevy dealership right now having it looked at. I just saw a forum with someone having the same problem and sent me to this link. Is this a recall? also the smell is strong at all times driving/parked/idoling.

The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated that the vehicle emitted a strong fuel odor and while driven the fuel odor penetrated the vehicle interior. In addition, while the vehicle was parked the fuel odor was strong. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic whom performed a diagnostic testing, which located a fuel leak at the driver side fuel tank. The contact stated that the mechanic advised that parts located at the top of the fuel tank needed to be replaced. However, the contact did not know the name of the parts that were replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 55,500.

Strong fuel smell when gas tank is more than half full.

Smell of gas consistently fills the cabin. I fear it is a crack in the gas tank like multiple others have reported.

Constant gasoline smell in the garage when parked especially when the tank is nearly full. Just recently purchased the car and never had a problem like this before. Must leave the garage door open or leave the car outside.

There is a strong smell of gasoline coming from the car. It is difficult to pinpoint the source, but I believe there is a leak from the gas tank area.

Bought car on a Friday 12/4/2015 fuel leak under drivers side under fuel fill door. Strong fumes as well. Took back to dealer Monday. Was told it will be this coming week before a technician can drop the rear suspension to get to the fuel tank. This is why I have only bought asian cars in the past. Lexus etc.

I am smelling a strong gasoline odor from the car as it is parked in the garage. It just started at random a few days ago. No visible signs of gas are on the pavement,but the smell is very strong. I am worried about a fire hazard since the exhaust is close by. There are a lot of complaints on the internet of this being a huge problem, but to my knowledge gm is not doing anything about if, my Corvette is 9'yrs old but only has 17,000 mile (a garage queen). This problem occurred out of the blue, my gas gauge reads about 5/8 of a tank so it did not happen after a fill up. ,,please help.

Hello, I am reporting on my 2006 c6z06 Corvette that recently had the valve-to-guide clearances checked on my engine and my measurements are beyond the serviceable specifications on 8 out of 16 valves, both intake and exhaust. I consider this a safety hazard due to the fact that if the vehicle is driven and engine seizes, loss of control may occur. I also have what appears to be a leak on the fuel module/sending unit, specifically on the top plastic elbow connector. I have strong gasoline odor in the cabin of the car and visible gasoline from the underside of the car near the fuel tank.
