33 Gasoline Fuel System problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Corvette

Failure Date: 01/01/2010

I own a 2002 Chevrolet Corvette that has recently developed a serious fuel leak when refueling car. Not only is this a fire hazard but also the leak allows raw gas to be released into the atmosphere, a pollution problem. I did a search on this problem on a Corvette web site ( Corvetteforum. Com ) and found this to be a wide spread problem in the c5 versions of the Corvette. The car was built on 4-3-02, and first delivered on 7-19-02. I am the second owner, car has 51,156 miles, has had all required maintenance performed and is kept in like new condition. Since this is a wide spread problem with this particular vehicle, and the safety and pollution hazards it presents I feel gm should be required to repair at no cost to the consumer these blatant design errors. If nothing else, the repair should be covered under pollution laws. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
