Was driving 45 down highway and the top for my 2007 Corvette coupe started came off. It broke off one of the latches, before I could grab it and unlatch them both to bring into the car. The top then broke the back latch and flew off onto highway street. No vehicles were on the road at the time other than mine thankfully. Currently looking to have top replaced.

I own a 2006 Corvette c6 as described in Chevrolet's recall notice on "defective removable tops. I am experiencing the described problems with the removable top and my VIN number is in the range Chevrolet has defined. I have called Chevrolet and they stated I would have to pay the dealer to determine if I had the specified recall defect. If they determined it was not within the recall criteria I would be billed by the dealer for diagnostics. I do not believe that the consumer should have to pay to determine if an identified problem, in the VIN number range specified is dangerous or not. It is not dangerous to me but could definitely affect any vehicles behind me if the roof fails. This is a recognized problem but chevy seems to say "let it fail, then we will handle it". My top creaks, started about 9 months ago and has recently developed a wind noise in the right passenger side. These are symptoms/precursors to failure as stated in the recall.
Our Corvette convertible had a "rattle" in the back we id as the back window from the convertible top had become separated from the adhesive and fell out into the back of the car. This seems to be a problem that is being handled through the recall.

My roof delamintated on my 2006 Chevrolet Corvette while driving. I had taken it to the dealership and they will not honor the recall.
The acrylic top on my 1996 Corvette was replaced with a new acrylic top from Chevrolet. The acrylic portion of the top has separated from the aluminum mounting frame. I have presented gone through 4 consecutive tops. Every top supplied to me has done the same thing. I can no longer drive my vehicle due to this fact. If I continue to drive my vehicle, there is a high probability that my roof is going to come off of the vehicle and possibly cause a accident on injure someone.

As I was driving away from my home to work, I was still on the main road of my community. The removable top of my 2007 Corvette coupe flew off. This occurred on martin king's birthday celebration in 2009. I am glad it happened on this day since the number of vehicles were fewer due to school and government offices were closed. On Jan 2010, I discovered that gm had a recall with the removable top. I have called gm and they have stated my car is not part of the recall. However before the top came off and now, I have the same problems as noted in the recall. My removable top makes noise as I drive over bumps and I hear wind noises when I drive.

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Corvette co5 hardtop coupe. The contact stated that there was no warning on the instrument panel to indicate that the hardtop is not locked. Over the past three years, the air pressure causes the unlocked hardtop to become airborne while driving at highway speeds. The hardtop has been replaced three times and has cost the contact a lot of money. He stated that the failure is a safety hazard because the hardtop could detach from the vehicle and strike another vehicle. The VIN was unknown. The failure and current mileages were 25,000.
My issue is an apparent design flaw with the power convertible top on my 2006 Corvette. During the normal operation of the top, the corner of the plastic side rails on each side of the each (driver's & passenger's side) contacts the inner liner of the convertible. This has caused a hole in my liner which, my local dealership refused to repair under the original manufacturers warranty. They stated that the reason they won't fix it is because gm hasn't issued a TSB (technical service bulletin) for this issue. I know of several other owners who are experiencing the same issue. Thank you in advance for assisting me.
When water/rain falls along windshield and hood, water collects under the dash and spills onto the clutch and brake pedals. . . . Causing your feet to slip sporadically, creating very dangerous situations.
