Wiper Problems of Chevrolet Corvette

We have a water leak that was coming in both windows and onto the floor. Since reported it the car will slow down while driving because of codes issues about the doors are not closed and it is. I feel it's due to the water leak that is coming into the car. Took the car to a Chevrolet dealer in columbia south carolina and they said it was coming from the roof weather stripping. They said it wasn't a recall for the 2020 c8 Corvette Corvette yet. Also called gm customer care to see if I can get some help to get it fixed. No luck.

Hi there have 2024 c8 Corvette purchased new in April 2024. Vehicle interior is the tan leather including the dash board. Due to the light color, sunlight reflects off of the dash cover causing severe glare and visibility. The hud display makes it worse. (fyi: our other vehicle has a black dash and hud with no problems or issues) have already had 2 incidents where , while making right turns from a stop, almost hit pedestrians. Passenger (wife), saw pedestrians from her angle and I was able to stop. When the sun refracts just right washing out momentarily line of sight. I have seen other persons on the Corvette forums complain about similar issues and supposedly, gm is aware of this since 2021?. I installed and flat black soft dash cover to minimize the glare and reflections, but this is only a temporary fix. If gm installed flat black dash covers while keeping the other interior colors the same. It should be fine. Recommend for a permanent fix, either replace the light dash covers or have a leather material slip on facade as and upgrade.

My 2024 Chevrolet convertible has a safety issue with the rear vision camera display. It has a severe reddish tint that blurs images when backing up but only when dark. Pictures attached. Is this truly normal? I wouldn’t think gm would engineer a safety issue and this is an aberration on my vehicle. Should be camera be moved? I really love the car, but this prevents me from using it at safely at night. Picture attached.

The infotainment system (radio) on my 2017 Chevrolet grand sport Corvette suddenly and without warning malfunctioned/failed on or around in 2023, whereby the eight inch screen on the infotainment system went completely black/blank, whereby my radio produced no audio sound nor allowed me the ability to view the screen (on the infotainment system) while placing my vehicle in reverse-which is very useful when having to place the vehicle in reverse. I personally believe that during the period (2023 thru most of 2024) in which my infotainment system was not working properly, that my safety and/or the safety of others was placed at risk due to being unable to use/view the rearview camera while placing my car in reverse. In August of 2024, I reached out to Chevrolet customer assistance center (by writing a letter) this matter and requesting financial assistance to repair my infotainment system. I submitted verification with my letter, that the matter I was writing about was "a well known issue/problem" as reported by Corvette magazine (which I subscribe to) and with computer prints/verification(s) of discussions in Corvette enthusiasts internet chat rooms, whereby several Corvette owners also reported having issues/problems with their infotainment system malfunctioning. Chevrolet customer assistance center replied to my letter and agreed to reimburse me for half of the $1700 required to repair the radio/infotainment system. . Genesis Chevrolet in eastpointe, mi. Completed the repair of my infotainment system.

The hood unexpectedly opens and can fly up and cause loss of forward vision. The hood can fly off and cause death. With no visibility the a collision can cause death.

The reverse camera works intermittently, but fails more often than it works properly. Able to reset by shutting car off and leaving door open for 90 seconds, then restarting. Works for that ignition/drive cycle but then becomes unreliable again after next startup. Car is a week old. Have not brought to dealer yet for warranty claim, however as this is a required safety system I am reporting it.

Overview: beginning sometime in 2020, the coating of the rearview inside mirror began to degrade and lose its reflective capability. By [xxx] visibility through the mirror was so bad that I had to have it replaced by the local chevy dealership. Because it was out of warranty, I had to pay $453. 93 out of pocket. The vehicle was unsafe to drive due to the mirror's degraded condition. 1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? rearview interior mirror 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I could not see clearly in the rearview mirror. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? many other drivers have reported the same issue with this model on the Corvette forum (see [xxx] ) also, sunrise Chevrolet in collierville, TN confirmed the mirror was defective and replaced it at my expense. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. I have a 2015 z51 Corvette and my windshield has a crack in it. I called Chevrolet and they said never heard that before. I have seen at least a hundred different people talking about the same incident. I feel gm should be having a recall for safety reasons. It is not a stone chip it is a crack from the top on the inside. I feel this is very unsafe and gm is just not addressing the he problem. Thank you for your time. Tom deckrow .

The top drivers side of the windshield has a 2" hairline crack that you cannot feel from the outside of the vehicle. Numerous Corvette forum sites have discussions regarding this to be a manufacturer assembly flaw. Apparently there is some left over welding material near the corner of the windshield pillar. This material creates pressure against the inside of the glass causing it to crack on the inside layer of glass. I have contacted the local Chevrolet dealer and the gm customer care center. Both have declined to even look at the crack stating it is not gm's fault. There are numerous posts on the Corvette forums showing pictures of cracks just like mine. Gm's answer was to have my insurance company replace the glass. I do not feel this is right given this is a quality control issue. Windshield mounting stress crack. While inside my garage today, I found a large 25 inch long crack in the upper drivers side corner of my 2015 Corvette. Upon inspection the crack is on the inside layer of the 2 layer glass. Nothing fell on the car and I haven't driven it for 6 months. Being friends with other Corvette owners, I spoke with them and was sent to the �corvetteforum � online. I was surprised to find this is an ongoing issue with this model of car. While some owners are covered for replacement by gm dealerships under warranty. Many owners are not covered even tho they have very low mileage. My car, 6 years old and 27,000 miles. The forums discusses owners dismay and safety concerns, and how could so many Corvette c7s have the same issue, and gm not issuing a recall or something to help all the owners. These cracking windshields pose a safety and legal issue if driven. It is not an act of god that caused the cracks, but a misaligned guide pin or tab in direct contact with the glass gm designed into the car. I like gm, and would like them to like me too. That mutual respect is truly what this world needs now.

The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette coupe with the 1lt trim package does not comply with the 20 degree minimum horizontal field of view requirement as outlined in us dot tp-111v-01. The interior rear view mirror is essentially useless given the small size of the rear hatch glass. Please note that the 1lt trim package does not include the camera augmented rear view mirror found in the 2lt and 3lt trim packages.

I just got my 2020 Corvette delivered last week. I am the first owner of the car and today I was driving up pch towards malibu. Went up to 80-90 mph at times. Drove for about 100 miles. I stopped to get something to eat. Got back in my car and proceeded up the canyons for some spirited driving. The car is already broken in at 1300 miles. I decided to pull off the road to take some pictures of the car. I put the car in park with the parking brake on and left the engine running with the key fob in the cupholder. After I got the shots I wanted, I proceeded to drive down the canyon and within 15 seconds I heard the front hood latch click/thump (same sound you hear when you press the button to pop the hood) right before I saw the hood fly up and heard a snap. Sudden loss of visibility almost caused my car to go off the cliff as I couldn't see the turn. Luckily I was able to stop the car before going off the road. The hood did not hit my front windshield, but there is severe hinge damage as well as damage to both fenders and the front hood. I had my windows down and my roof off, did not have the radio on and it was quiet road. There were no warning lights that the hood latch was open/disengaged. Even when the hood flew up, there was no indicator light or beeping. I put the hood back down as carefully as I could. I had no choice but to try my best to close the hood since I was in an area with no reception in order to keep driving. In the closed position, the hood is now about 3/4 to 1 inch lower than each fender. Super paranoid I tried to drive as slowly as I can home, but I did reach speed up to 55 mph. Thankfully it did not happen again. Gm spokesperson blames it on user error. I guarantee you guys this is not user error.

While driving at a prudent speed the hood of my vehicle opened with some damage to the hood(sprung hinges) and body damage. I got a signal that the hood was open and then the hood sprung open. I was driving at 35-40 mph at the time and came to a stop in a prudent manner. (no visibility).

Windshield is delaminating. Delamination has caused a stress crack to develop. There is no evidence of a stone or other projectile impacting the windshield. These conditions have been verified by the Chevrolet dealer where the car was purchased after inspection by the service lane manager and the service director. Condition noticed when washing the car.

The front lights of the car one of them isn't working. I believe this isn't the first complain about this kind of car. It is dangerous to be driving on the road. I have to continue to put my high beams on for them to work. At times both the lights are on and with time driving it will turn one of them off. It's dangerous because the visibility on the road for me and other drivers.

The contact stated that while driving about 30 mph, the vehicle's programming that controlled the heating would independently function and it would not allow the occupant manual operated. The contact stated that the when the switch that control the top was pressed the manual control did return, however heating element returned funtioning at approximately 151 degrees independently. The contact stated that the programming that controls the switch used for the top will independntely control heating elements. The contact stated that the verbiage in the owners manuel does not indicate that in the climate control setting section. The failure recurred constantly. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle operated as designed. In addition, the contact was informed no plan to remedy the failure or update owners manual. Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated that while driving at unknown speeds there was a abnormal snapping noise emerging from the roof area while traveling over bumps. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer charlie obaught Chevrolet located at 2551 w main st, waynesboro, va 22980 (540) 941-2200 where informed that the vehicle was not included under a recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and referred the contact to NHTSA. Additionally, the contact stated that he was informed by the local dealer that the vehicle was included under NHTSA campaign number 09v491000 (structure) the failure mileage was 128,000. Ap.

Plastic fitting on cowl for rh windshield washer broke and disabled washer. Only source for this part is a used one from a salvage operation. Gm should sell safety related parts, especially plastic ones which are subject to aging and breakage.

While driving approximately 45 mph at night, sudden loss of both low beam headlights without warning. Almost went off the road. I had to stop suddenly. Nearly missed getting rear ended in the process. This is not safe!.

Headlamps quit working while driving at night. Both headlamps did not turn on and I had to drive with the fog lights. I checked the relay and fuses which were all okay. This morning, they did work. I've researched other owner forums of which this incident has happened from a bad ground from an overheated fuse box in the engine compartment, with owners driving at night and driving lights going out inexplicably, which could lead to serious injury.

Made online concern and issue with low beam lights going off in 2011. Recall notice from gm; January 2015, states it will install "jumper" wire. I already had this completed on 10/13/2011 which resulted as a short term fix. Still ended up having problems and eventually (hoping for the recall to transpire sooner) have it set up now where I need to pop the hood and install a 20 amp fuse in order for lights to go on. "jumper" format is not adequate just be aware. The design of the ubec unit should be overhauled to accomplish two key issues; heat and less sharp bends of the internal copper wiring to prevent stress and breaking. Currently only fog lights function without having to plug in the 20 amp fuse. Even my bright lights need the fused plug in under the hood.

Ac inop speed only one setting. Dealer pulled dash and replace bad mode valve actuator and controller. 10 months later 08/11 same issue ac only one speed and causing moisture to appear on front windshield. Dealer remove dash and replaced 2 actuators and valve. 7 months later 03/12 same issue again dealer pulled dash and replaced mode valve and actuators again. 4 months later 07/12 same issue only one speed and no auto speed . Pulled dash again and replaced the entire hvac case saying it was warped. 3 months later 10/12 same issue pulled dash and mode valve and actuators and valves. . 06/13 same issue going into dealer service again. Al this and have only driven car for 10,000 miles. So far everything has been covered by warranties and always get a loaner but I want to drive my Corvette.

Upon complition of the recall servicing my car would not start the car's digital imformation center said service colume lock. . . . . This problem was created by the dealership that performed the recall now for the last few months when ever I excellerate quickly I get an service active handling message and the brakes do apply and I get an unstable ride for a short period of time, after I come to a stop and cut the motor off the (dic) digital imformation center will no longer show the message. As a result of the recall servicing I have had constance errow messages stating. . . . Service colume lock, and service active handling. When the massage center reads service colume lock the car won't start, these problems started immeadily after the recall servicing. Please advised me of what can be done to correct this most distrubing problem. . . . The dealership is not owning the problem they surely caused. Column lock failure (4 times) . Convertible top 5+ times rib in top broken,top will not raise or lower or will move and stop. Plastic interior parts dry up and break visor. All before 50k miles. Car is in the dealer shop (30+ days at this time).
