It's takes long for the gears to change get stuck on gears smells like gas I. The car and had it in park and started to roll back with out starting the car in the city and in the highway acts the same.
I purchased a pre-owned 2011 chevy Cruze in August of 2016. In December, I was driving on the highway and my car started to jerk as I pushed on the gas and it wouldn't accelerate. I pull over and parked the car to see what was wrong. I restarted the car and put it in drive, but it wouldn't go forward; however, when I put the car in reverse, it moved. My mom called the dealership we bought it from to claim the lemon law, but their response was that they couldn't do anything about it because the car was older than 30 days. She was also told that the lemon law does not apply to used vehicles, so my dad had the car towed to Chevrolet. They said that the transmission was the issue. My issue is that I had this car for 4 months. Replacing or getting the transmission fixed costs more than the car is worth. I do not have the funds for this being that I am a college student, and I need this transportation. I can't trade this car in since it's in this condition. My other issue is that there is no recall for this malfunction in this particular vehicle. After doing some research on this issue, I realized that there a lot of people dealing with this same problem and others regarding the transmission. I believe there should be a recall on the transmission because this issue is extremely dangerous.
I have atf leaking from the crimped end of a rubber line going to the metal line for the transmission.
Transmission.
The car has a burning electrical smell. Sometimes we can smell the odor in the cabin, but mostly coming from the engine after we have finished driving the car and walk around the front of the car. The odor has been present since we purchased the car in November 2016.
Transmission is kicking while driving, especially when in reverse but also while forward. Also while in reverse the car will go forward instead. Does this every time it is driven, even while turning. Mechanic said it is the actual transmission causing the problem.
My car hesitate sometime during driving at low speed or high speed and the stabili trak light appear, the check engine light stays on even when I have replaced the part needed. .
After having other recalls with this vehicle, now there is a transmission fluid leak directly after the warranty expired. This was discovered at the dealership when "check engine" light was on due to evap vent valve needing replaced. Shottenkirk Chevrolet stated the transmission fluid leak repair will cost $1,380. 00.
Burning smell from engine. Back in may 2016 I started smelling this burning smell after you drove the car for 20 mins. I bring it up to the dealer every time I have to take the car in. They can never find the source. They thought a oil pan leak was it. That was fixed and the smell still is there. They claimed to find an oil leak another time and fixed. Then it was a transmission leak, which was fixed and still the smell. There is never fluid under the car. I have the smell noted every time.
My a/c condenser was hit by a rock and the dealer said it's not covered under warranty. But I know there is a TSB #10461 about the a/c condenser.
My car has a check engine light and I took it to dealer they do not know what the code is, its p057c and I was driving on highway going 70 and car all of a sudden loses power went from 70mph to 5mph in a split second almost got rear ended by a semi truck I am afraid to drive my car for my safety. Dealer wants hundreds of dollars just to try and figre out the issue but after diagnostic they still have no clue. So thir plan was to dissect my car like a science project and maybe fix it. They want the car for a week and do not offer any loaner cars. Chevrolet northridge dealership California. Today 03/04/16 driving to work going 40mph and get to a red light, it turned green I hit the gas and the car just revs and wont go more than 5pmh . I had to pull over and turn car on and off 2 times before I could get to work. And got there late because of this. And again almost got rear ended. I press the gas and the car revs as if it is idling. Please make this a recall and help get this fixed. Its going to be a reason why a driver loses their life. This is a true emergency since it just feels like the car has a mind of its own. And dealer does not know what to do. Please please help!.
Takata recall. I drive a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze with approximately 57000 miles. Last week I was driving in traffic when the car suddenly began to lose power. On my dashboard notice center the message "engine power reduced" flashed. The car lost acceleration and became very difficult to control. I was surrounded by traffic and very lucky I did not get hit as I managed to get it to coast into a parking lot. This is a very dangerous situation. After doing online research I was shocked to see the number of people that this has happened to. Unfortunately it seems to happen after the 50,000 mile mark on these vehicles and usually after the warranty expires.
Transmission problems.
Hvac creates a noxious odor when running heat. Notice it mostly in a foot/defrost mode. Reports are either leaking heater core or hvac system grease in my research. Irritation of nose and throat results, does not seem to be dependent on speed. Notice it more when starting car when still warm, also while standing for some time in gear then accelerating.
I was injured in accident. . . . Hit a stationary vehicle. . . . There's significant damage to my vehicle. . . My airbags did not deploy. . . I am suffering from a severe cervical strain, severe neck sprain with inflation causing severe headaches, a severe upper and lower back sprain with inflammation casing pressure on my sciatic nerve. . . I cannot lift, bend , stand , sit, lie down for long periods of time, I even have to have help just too bathe. . I believe that had deployed. . . My injuries were not have been so severe.
Car has constantly been slow in shifting gears when in automatic.
When I turned on my car, my message center was in german instead of english. I did nothing to change the language. The next time I turned on my car, it was back to english.
I use this site to check for open recalls for my job. I am wondering why it is so outdated??? I can see a few weeks, but a recall that was "posted" in noveber 2014 should be on this web site by now. Why the outdated information???.
I was driving my car on the way to work one day and out of no where going down my hill my traction control light and check engine lights came on and my dash board said "engine power reduced". It wouldn't let me accelerate so I stopped and shut off the car. I started it 5 minutes later and it ran normal but the check engine light was still on. On the way home from work it did it 2 more times. Its extremely dangerous to drive because when all those lights come on your car goes from 60mph to 10mph in 5 seconds. If youre driving and someone is directly behind you theyre going to crash into you. After a day or two I made an appt. To get it looked at and I kept driving it because I need to get to work. Now the car not only says "engine power reduced" but it also says " service traction control" but thats not even whats wrong with the car. Its the throttle body. Now Chevrolet is expecting me to pay 500 to fix it and I dont have that, they wont rent me a rental car and I have no other way to work. I pay for insurance for the car through them but apparently anything thats wrong with my car isnt covered by any of the insurance that I bought from them. This is dangerous to drive around and I'm pissed that they don't care or sell me this crap insurance that doesnt cover anything important. I only bought the car 1 year and 4 months ago. . . There shouldnt be problems with it. The car was in perfect condition when I bought it from quirk Chevrolet in manchester, nh.
I purchased a used 2011 chevy Cruze lt three months ago. Prier owner owned the vehicle for 3 years and hardly drove it. I was sitting at a light when the check engine light came on the the "engine power reduced" flashed on my screen. The car slowed to 2 mph. I pulled over and turned off the vehicle. Later I turned the car back on, check engine light came on. When I started to drive "service esp" flashed on my screen, then "service traction" flashed on my screen following by "engine power reduce. " this happened to me 3 times in the same trip and is very dangerous. I thought maybe it was because of the snowy weather and freezing temperature? anyone have this happen? how can I fix it? help!?.
I was driving on my way to the store, suddenly I started smelling something burning. I the thought that the smell was coming from outside. But it happened again on December 31st when I was on my way home from work. I didn't see any smoke, but I smelled something burning. The fumes were coming from the vent. This needs to be checked out.
Interior door handle chrome plastic over is pealing off, with sharp edges exposed. It easily causes cuts, and scratches.
Vehicle has had water pump replaced earlier this year under warranty - and had the turbo charger replaced last week under warranty. Not covered under warranty last week was a "leaking" battery. Since battery was original - I felt it was worth replacing. Yesterday, while driving to work, the check engine light came on and the heater stopped working. Today - the dealer calls me and states that they need to replace a hose and outlet. There was no leak yesterday - and they state that there is a leak and this is the reason. They want $250 for repairs. The hose was fine yesterday - and the outlet should have been replaced with the water pump (actually they should have replaced the hose at that time also). No response from gm quality care. Over $500 in the last two weeks - and I am not certain that this issue is over. It has also had two computers replaced when I first got it.
When driving in freezing temperatures my windows begin to fog and frost on the inside of all 4 windows, the rear window, and the corners of the windshield. After driving about 10 - 15 minutes with the defrosters blowing warm air, the car is unable to clear the frost. And by then, the frost has built up enough to the point to where I cannot see out of either drivers or passenger side window. This car was brought to lupient Chevrolet in bloomington, mn (where it was purchased 6 months ago). It was looked at for a week in which the service manger informed me that there is no fix for this problem due to the engine being too small to keep up with cold winter conditions.
Oil leakage on top of engine, smell of burning oil, loud sound of vehicle, car misfires.
While driving the ac blows cold air through the top vents but hot air from the bottom vent on the driver side. The area on the center console that touches the driver's leg becomes hot to touch and extremely uncomfortable while driving for more than 1 hour. This area should not be this hot and so far no one has been able to identify the reason for the overheating of the center console area.
The transmission does not engage from a stop to move and almost caused a collision. Even on the highway the vehicle does not shift properly and hesitates and when it finally shifts it slams into gear. The mostly occurs from a stopped position and then during acceleration. The dealership said that is how it is designed and nothing is wrong. But the problem just keeps getting progressively worse. Longer hesitations and harder shifting.
I had my car park in the front yard. It rain on that date until the next morning . When I got into my car I notice on the front passenger side up under the dashboard that it was soak and wet from the rain that we got. I didn't leave any windows down. The only way the water could of got in is through a leak in the lining around the windshield. I never had it replace before. I don't understand how a car that you don't hardly rive could get flooded. I keep it covered up. Its just that 1 particular day I left it uncovered overnight and it get rain it. I know the lining or insulation should hold up longer than 4 yrs? that is I consider a defect.
I was pulling out of the drive through window at mcdonalds and my purse hit the clutch. My car changed gears with just at a slight touch. It has done this before several times since I have owned it. Also my back tires never stay inflated. Every three days I am usually putting air in the tires.
This happened twice: I was going down a mountain in southwestern va, where I am from, and it was like the brakes were grabbing. I could feel it in the brake peddle, steering wheel, and floor. I thought they were not going to stop me. We pulled the front tires to check the brakes and rotors, and they are both fine. . The passenger with me could feel it too both times.
The car has been losing power over the past few months while under warranty. I kept taking it back to the chevy dealership and they said nothing was wrong and reset the light. However now the car will not barely go, I have power but its forced and its as if I have to push the car up the hills to go. I live in pennsylvania so this is not an ideal situation, but I have had my oil changed regularly every 3,000 miles although other issues have occurred with the car like the cooling system and the temp gage this time I have had it checked professionally with an outside consult rather than going to the dealership and they stated that it is my turbo it doesn't work and probably hasn't worked properly on my car. I have been on several forums for chevy Cruzes and it seems like there are lots of people with this issue as well.
I was driving at a low rate of speed when my car died. I had no brakes, power steering or engine power. I tried to turn my key to restart the car but the key on my fob was stuck, it woukdnt move firward or back or out of the ignition for quite a white. When I was able to get the key out, I returned it to the ignition and restarted the car and drobpve straight home. I called chevy corp. Office where they towed the car to my locale dealership where they could not find a probkem. I am scard to drive my car, due to this happening again.
The 2011 Cruze should be taken off the market. This car has caused me to almost crash 10 times in the past month that I have had it. There has to be a defect with the acceleration of the car. When I merge on to the interstate and try and speed up the car stalls out and has a hard time shifting. Thousands of others have complained about the same issue. This is a hazard to vehichle owners as well as other motorist. When will something be done about this? gm should have to fix these units. . Read more...
The recall (gm recall # 12213) was performed on April 30, 2014. Since this date, the brakes come on no matter what speed you're going. All of the brake lights come on, even when foot is on the accelerator and the car will slowly start to slow down. It also causes the cruise control to disengage and the car to slow down. Safety notice #14417 coolant levels low I have taken my Cruze in to the dealership on the following dates: 8/14/2013, 4/30/2014, 5/6/2014, and 11/7/2014. Each time I was told the car was fine. I am adding a half a gallon of anti-freeze every 2-3 weeks. The service report from 4/30/2014 says they found a faulty pump leaking out coolant and it was replaced. Then why is coolant still leaking? last, but certainly not least, check engine light, code po240. The dealership keeps telling me it is the catalytic converter and it is not. There is no loss of power and no rotting egg smell. So instead of changing parts under warranty that come up with the code, they checked 2 items for the 4 time each (which have been fixed) and they checked the parts I changed myself but they never changed the O2 sensors which are the probable issue. They reset the code to see if the light came back on. It did. When I returned 6 days later, my warranty mileage was past by 677 miles and instead of calling it a continuation from the previous visit where the problem was diagnosed, they started a new work order and immediately wanted to change the catalytic converter. I had on-star at the time. Diagnostics of March 2014 showed no issues. After the work done in April 2014, the diagnostic came back with an issue with the exhaust system (code po240). I have heard what people have said about this dealership but I rarely listen to gossip. Apparently, it's all true. They just want to fix the expensive parts and will make them break down so you bring it back.
