general problems of the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze - part 2

I am wondering when gm is gonna admit fault on these chevy Cruzes? my mechanic father owns one. He's had to replace valve cover gasket on his 3x. Mine at least 4-5x now. One bad oil change at a dealership almost cost me my engine at sunfair Chevrolet. They left 2 rings on the oil fuel filter causing it to leak all over my engine compartment which left me roadside the next day after driving it 2 hours the night before back in Aug 2016. So they gave us 10k miles over this incident in case my engine blew. It ran a bit hotter than it did before this incident. I also noticed a burning smell. Enclosed in the scanned documents you will find a letter from Chevrolet discussing a "engine light" coming on and engine coolant leak from the water pump reservoir leading to a drip of coolant onto the engine or onto the ground. Overtime, the loss of coolant will reduce cooling performance and eventually could lead to engine overheating. Well, that isn't the only issue. Look at my scanned documents to see how many times the valve cover has been the issue. Always the engine light coming on and pull codes. A mechanic friend, replaced the valve cover gasket for me before it became a recall to save me$. Engine light came on again in 1 year. The pcv valve was built into the valve cove creating a chronic problem. Leads to a loss of turbo power. The last time manifold had to be repaired, they lifted the valve cover to get to it; leaked oil one day after my husband just replaced it. We assumed that was the issue (again), so instead of taking it in, he replaced the seal before taking it in. Someone please help us. Last fix was Aug. 2023, one day after it was in the shop. Over $1200 in repairs I called gm, they told me to take it into the dealership. They focused on an oil leak from oil feed line. 4 days in still wasn't repaired. 1-20-14 I think was first incident of a valve cover issue. This is only 2 years after the car was "new". 137k miles on it now. Faithful with oil changes.

I have a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze eco, within a year I had to have the turbocharger replaced. Before I had it replace I brought it to the dealer with complaints of losing power and the smell of gas and exhaust. They said working as normal; within days it started making a loud noise. I call onstar to do a diagnosis' it was my turbocharger. It was fix but a few days later it smelt like fumes again. Took it in and they said working as normal. A year later the turbocharger went out again and I paid 1200 to have it fix. Long story short I'm still smelling exhaust even after having all the recalls fix. Now my stability traction control light came on the off again. This car was a lemon from the beginning but I'm out of warranty. I thought by now they would of had a recall on their turbocharger and the oil line that they say that keeps getting block and the exhaust smelll. Is anyone working on all these complaints?.

This car would suddenly and without warning surge/lunge forward creating a safety hazard to all including other drivers. I have had it back to the dealer twice and they have confirmed and duplicated my observations and concerns however,at first they thought it was electronic and then decided to rebuild the transmission after they found metal fragments within this sealed component. This is a brand new car so why would they not replace the car,give back my money or at the very least replace the transmission rather than repair it? the car has now been in the shop for 18 of the 40 something days that I have owned it and its still there today. I am not convinced that the transmission is the real problem and I'm skeptical that gm truly knows what the issue is. I would be interested to know if other Cruze owners are also experiencing this safety issue? I am also disappointed that gm doesn't simply return the few dollars I have invested and let this car fly off into the sunset. I have been a consistant gm buyer for many many years and this particular situation has left a bad taste in my mouth to say the least.

Vehicle vents antifreeze vapors and fuel vapors into driver/passenger compartment. Odors can become noxious.

I've went through 7 turbos, I bought the car brand new. Im now having electrical issues with it.

The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there was strong odor inside the vehicle. The contact also stated that fuel leaked from the front of the vehicle. The failure was persistent. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the turbo cooler line, the transmission cooler hose line and the oil seal gasket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 48,000.

Steering: around one week prior to the incident, I had my 2012 chevy Cruze under panel modified due to a potential engine fire. The following week, while driving home from work, I experienced a "wandering" in my vehicle. I noticed it again driving home the next day. Now, whenever this is wind, I experience my vehicle "wandering. " when this occurs, my car drifts left and right much more and the front end feels lighter and far too responsive. Fuel: after the modification to my under panel, I have noticed a drop in my fuel mileage. I have seen around 2 mpg or more of reduced fuel economy.

Reference to chevy crux 2012 intermitinter smell of gasoline, worse when standing, that became more notisible after shield was cut, but the cut made did not prevent the oil from pooling after oil change, since the metal shield that was left collect the oil, and does not prevent the pooling of oil after oil change.

During acceleration I smell gas, oil burning, exhaust fuels in my car. I have taken it to the dealer who keeps stating it running like it should. Now I believe my warranty is over and my new car functions like its 20 years old. I can't get them to believe me and I don't believe they even bother test driving it. I mentioned the smell when I brought my car in for them to replace my turbo charger that malfunctioned. Ever after.
