The contact stated that after turning on their vehicle the check engine light illuminated and a message stating that the ac off due to high temperature. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 mph when the vehicle's check engine light was illuminated when suddenly the vehicle was unable to accelerate and the vehicle suddenly went idle. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who was unable to cause of the failure. 2 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 07/12/2017

The fuel gauges, both digital and analog, showed that the distance to empty was 70 miles. Actually, there was no gasoline left in the tank and the vehicle came to a stop on the highway. This happened twice. After the first time, the vehicle was towed to the dealer, west herr Chevrolet in buffalo, NY, which described the problem as running out of gasoline. The fuel gauges are defective. When the tank was filled after running out of gasoline, the gauges continued to read that there was only 70 miles to empty for an additional 24 hours or more.

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. Whenever the contact placed fuel into the fuel tank, the vehicle failed to start without a two minute delay and the check engine indicator illuminated.
