Cruise Control Problems of Chevrolet Cruze

I backed out of my icy driveway and onto the clear, dry road. Set my cruise control to 48mph and after about 30 seconds, my traction control and service engine lights came on with an error message that said "service stabilitrak" and my cruise control turned off. I closed the stabilitrak message, the traction control light turned off after about 30 seconds, and the service engine light turned off shortly after. But my cruise control still wont engage. I've turned the vehicle off and on and it still isnt working. It seems that a lot of different gm vehicles have experienced this problem, and the dealership has fixed it in several different ways. I read on a forum that someone had the issue and the gm dealership said there was an issue with the amount of ethanol in the gasoline. I happened to have filled up my tank the night before with regular unleaded from my local speedway. Not sure of that could have been connected.

I bought my car from a used car lot in March. After about 2 weeks, I started having issues with the cruise control, after a few months, the cruise switch had to be replaced because it stopped working all together. During the time I've had the vehicle, I've had to replace the thermostat control, as well as a coil in the engine. For the past 2-3 months or so, I'll be driving down the highway and the service stability track will show up, with the traction control and the check engine light blinking. My car wont let me speed up, and it will slowly slow down. If I have my cruise on when this happens, the car's rpm will shoot up in an attempt to get back to the speed I had it set at. After about a minute with the lights on, the check engine light will stop blinking and the car will go back to normal (the traction light wont turn off until I turn off the car). I have taken my car to my mechanic, and his computer shows code uo100, which is "lost communication with engine control module", which is a very general code and could come from anywhere. He cannot figure out what is wrong with it. The wires seem connected properly, and everything seems fine, other than the light issue. It happens while I'm driving down the highway, at any random moment. It occurs at least every 3 days, if not everyday.

Ive had my car for 2 years now. After the first year I began noticing the engine would be going at a steady speed and if you began to accelerate the engine would rev or stall and the rpms shoot up. The only way to keep it from producing the actions is to slowly accelerate. The engine is sluggish and does this while in cruise control. . After getting the complete read, it was said the 02 sensors were out. The engine is now to the point it will randomly be going and the engine light will start flashing and all speed is reduced. They were replaced, but the problem persisted. The car stalls out so often I refuse to take it in to cities or onto the interstate. I will be going back to a truck after this is paid off! will be going to the dealership this week!.

Since March 30, 2015, I have been experiencing issues with and have been trying to collect video evidence while in failure mode, of what I believe to be failures of the body computer(s) in this vehicle. The dashboard displays have been going on and off under a wide variety of driving situations, and while sitting at idle. They fault when the vehicle is simply driving down the highway. During these faults, the center information display for the hvac and entertainment will frequently turn off. This kills the radio. It at times kills the hvac systems and the turn signals (at least the noise for the turn signal indicators). At times, the center display above the steering column will go black and then display a message about the stabilitrak having failed and requiring it to be checked. Then it returns to normal mode. This is less frequent an occurrence. While driving on the highway under cruise control, the vehicle experienced one incident of unintended acceleration while the displays were in fault modes. This occurred on April 1, 2015 I believe. The driver's feet were on the floorboards. Not touching any pedals at all. The incident was stopped by the driver firmly pressing down on the brake pedal. When sufficient video evidence is accumulated on these failures the vehicle will be taken into the dealership. Lacking actual demonstrative evidence of the failures, the dealership will not be able to know what to repair or replace. The car has a history of dash display issues. The owner, a retired librarian/researcher from general motors advanced engineering staff and the r&d center, has worked on unintended acceleration legal cases for the company, and has supported litigation defense work on such issues while at the company. He is still gathering evidence but feels the need to document this incident as soon as possible for NHTSA should an accident occur to him due to this.

Was traveling on the highway with cruise control set at 67mph when suddenly the car just lost power and the engine quit running. All of the dashboard instruments lost power ,gas gauge registered empty, etc. Although the radio did not go off. Luckily this happened with very light traffic and was able to pull off in the emergency lane and put the vehicle in park and restarted the vehicle with no trouble. Continued our trip and did not happen again. After thinking about this I did notice the vehicle a few weeks ago losing some accelerating speed/power intermittently while traveling. Not sure if that was an indicator or not. Did call onstar approximately 5 hours after incident to diagnose and see if any error codes came up and they stated they showed nothing. This is my daughters vehicle and I fear that if she is traveling in heavy traffic and this happens again that this could cause a sever accident.

2012 chevy Cruze eco 1. 4l turbo has issues with service stabilitrak message, service power sterring, service traction control, these messages appear while driving at highway speeds. Activated usually be turn signal car radio and instrument cluster seems like it shuts off for a second turn signal blinks but no clicking noise after 2-3 blinks then clicks. At times when on cruise control the step on brakes to slow down would activate the electrical glitch speeding up and slowing down also but not at much. Car seems like it has a decrease in power. Made an appointment with dealer to check out but its not a recall issue.

The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. While driving with the cruise control set to 75 mph, the vehicle traveled at 80 mph independently. Additionally, while reversing at very low mileage, the vehicle abnormally accelerated and reversed into a pole. The contact was able to drive away from the scene without any injuries. The vehicle was taken to the dealer four times however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact believed that the vehicle had a "mind of its own" and would erroneously perform in ways that it was not designed. The contact requested the bluetooth be removed from the vehicle and inquired about having the gps removed, as she believed that the transmitter was the cause of the failures. The manufacturer was contacted, but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 38,000.

Safety issue, so scary I am afraid of driving it now: the gas pedal has a delay in it and scared me to death several times, trying to come out of a stop light on a busy intersection as the car had a 2-3 second delay in responding to the gas pedal, and then whooshed out on top of incoming traffic!!! on the highway it happened several times that changing lanes becomes an issue as this delay in responding and sudden acceleration almost got me into an accident last week. I have bought all the warranties, extended warranties, and taken excellent care of the car. I have had it only since December 10, 2013. When I leased it, I was told it had cruise control. It hadn't so they had to install it for free. The car does not come with cruise control ?????!!!! when I took it to the dealership for maintenance and review of the issue, the mechanic found the same behavior and deemed it as "normal" [???!!!] I traced my Toyota corolla 2010, and it had cruise control! I spoke with the dealership and they tried to sell me another car for more money down and higher monthly payments, when I refused and threatened with writing to gm and the attorney general, they said they would do anything in their hands and speak with the regional rep from gm. I am waiting for their response. Sincerely, now that I know this, I want my money back then I started investigating and found a lot of complaints of the same nature. The Cruzes should be all recalled and moneys refunded. I am afraid of driving that car and I want a refund. I would rather lease from another company. If I only knew the total lack of respect for human life that the gm executives had I would have never leased a chevy. I did nor know until a week ago that gm was recalling thousands or poorly made cars!.
