1 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 05/01/2017

My car is a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze and only had 17,000 miles on it when my fuel pump went out while I was driving down a busy street at night. Before that happened I noticed for several days before that my gas was burning up at an alarming rate. Not even getting 25 miles when I had put $20. 00 in tank. The day this happened I left my house where I was parked in the garage, my first stop was a gas station. Upon leaving there I made it half a block and car died in the middle of traffic. I could not go anywhere just dead. Tried the battery, tried to jump it but nothing worked, so I had it towed home. . The next day I called the dealership and they towed it to the dealership. They had my car for a couple days before they told me I had something in my gas, sent me a picture of this measuring cup with 2 different separated liquids in it. One clear and one light brown. Said it would be $1013. And change to fix this problem and since it was vandalism it was not under warranty. I was very upset so he suggested I call insurance and claim through them. Went back and forth with them trying to figure out when the insurance adjuster was going to be there. 2 weeks went by and I was still paying for a car rental and they hadn't started on my car yet. Insurance adjuster came out and said they would cover if it was vandalism but he didn't think it was vandalism. I didn't either since I was parked in the garage and I was having fuel problems before. So my deductible was kind of high and insurance said it wasn't worth it to cover for that little bit of money and I agreed. It took them longer than 2 weeks to fix it. They said the bad fuel made the fuel pump go out, and I'm not so sure because tons of people complain about the fuel pump in different online forums. I'd like to know if there is more people complaining of this. Uploaded 2 photos and also have paperwork info from insurance.

2 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 04/29/2016

Car's engine stopped running unexpectedly due to blown fuel pump fuse while traveling at 30 m. P. H in clear weather, during the day, on paved downtown orlando street. When engine died, lost power steering and power breaks, very difficult to control and almost got into an accident. Dealer diagnosed the issue as a coil pack problem and replaced the coil pack at a cost of $534. 00. I am not sure how the coil pack that holds the spark plugs would cause the fuel pump fuse to blow.

4 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze

Failure Date: 10/01/2012

I recently had a diagnostic done on my 2012 chevy Cruze eco 1. 4 liter. The code read as p069e, fuel pump control module. I have had issue with the instrument panel not showing accurate fuel levels. Sometimes if the fuel goes below half a tank it reads empty for a few days or a week, even if I fill up the tank it still reads empty. This can be dangerous, especially on long trips and I have a long commute in and out of different cities. I have had this issue since I have had the car at 1100 miles when I got it. I currently have about 108000 miles. I used to think it was the fuel pump, but recently learned it could be a few things like the fuel line pressure sensor, fuel pump mra, wiring, circuit issues, or the fuel pump control module. And the fuel pump control module seems to be the main issue or so I have heard. It would be great if this could be resolved, it is not good driving around with a defective fuel system.
