Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that the vehicle had failed to move forward when in drive, failed to retain brake fluid, the vehicle suddenly slows down and the brakes had locked several times intermittently. The stability traction control and brake lights had been illuminating randomly when the failure happened. The dealer john thornton Chevrolet (1971 thornton rd, lithia springs, GA 30122, (678) 303-4071) indicated that there was brake contamination provided an extensive diagnosis but did not specify which specific parts may need to be replaced at this point so the contact was uncertain if they actually had a permanent remedy to repair the vehicle. An independent mechanic stated that the abs system would need to be further inspected and that the brake master cylinder may need to be replaced. The manufacturer had issued 7 TSB on brakes, 1 TSB on traction control but have not yet issued a recall for both components. The manufacturer provided no solution other than taking the vehicle for the dealer for a diagnosis and repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was not available. Dyd.
Airbag light, tpms, stability light, headlight and taillights go out alot. Called chevy place aout recalls and was told mine is not recalled but problems with my car are same as recall. They fixed gas line recall, took it to where I bought it 2 or 3 times but never got fixed. My speedometer also been out since getting car brake lights always coming on as well, other problems as well. Doesnt seem chevy makes a good vehicle.
I was coming upon a stop sign, it was snowing outside so I was driving quite cautiously. As I came to the stop sign I slid a bit and then the SUV lost all traction and the brake light, abs light, service stability control, and service traction control lights all came on. I then pulled over to the side of the road restarted the SUV and all lights came back on and I had no antilock brakes, stability control, or traction the rest of the way home. It was terrible. I have never felt like I had no control of a vehicle like that before. I parked it in the garage at home and the next day started it again. All lights went off and it was fine until snowfall today. The same thing happened when my husband was driving it. We have tried starting it again but the lights have not yet went out. I will be bringing this to the dealership first thing Monday morning with hopes it doesn't cost me too much to get it fix. I fear for others that will have this same problem. I have always bought Chevrolets but this has definitely made me think twice about buying yet another vehicle from them. I would definitely consider this an incident that should have been recalled. I have researched it online and many people have had this same problem.
