The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that when turning the vehicle off, the key failed to release from the ignition. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 105,000.
When I park my car I cannot get the key out of the ignition. I have to push the brake all the way to the floor and move the gear shift several times back and fourth before I can get the key out. It happens almost every day, every time I park the car. It is getting worse day by day and I am afraid that one day I will not be able to get the key out at all. I am unemployed at the present and cannot afford to have anyone look at it. I feel that it is a defect from the factory, because there have been so many reports for the same thing. I think something should be done concerning this problem as soon as possible.
Key will not come out of ignition when car is placed in park. The key is stuck in accessory position. Car needs to be turned back on and gear selector moved (as well as vehicle, steering etc. ) many times before key will disengage from steering column.
Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that the srs warning lamp was illuminated and she was unable to turn on the ignition by using the key fob. The contact also added that while driving in inclement weather, the spare tire well would fill up with water which caused the vehicle to have an . The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offered any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 32,000 and the current mileage was 36,000. Kmj.
The awd on my 2007 Equinox has been exceptionally loud ever since I bought the car. I just figured it was supposed to be like that and didn't worry about it since it came on whenever we had a heavy rain. This past winter, I go stuck in a snowstorm and my awd never came on, which led to me losing control of my vehicle. Luckily, I didn't crash but hated the entire experience since I had my two small children with me. Anyway, over the weekend (9/10/2010), my stabilitrak service light came on. Since I was also having problems getting the key out of the ignition, I took it to a dealership who told me the main computer (bcm) needs to be replaced. This computer is the reason why my awd doesn't operate properly and the reason why my key cannot be pulled out of the ignition.
Put the key in ignition and key wont turn. Like the ignition is stuck. Got to fiddle with ignition for @ 15 minutes and finally its "pops loose" and lets me start it.
