The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that as his daughter was slowing down to exit a highway, she was rear ended at a high rate of speed by another vehicle. The impact from the other vehicle caused his daughter to then hit the vehicle in front of her. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact's daughter was taken to the hospital by ambulance; however, due to a long wait, she left untreated. She was later treated by her primary care doctor who performed x-rays for soreness to her left shoulder, the middle of her chest and right hip; she was given medication to treat the soreness to those areas. A police report was filed. The whereabouts of the other drivers were unknown. The contact arrived at the scene and was able to drive the vehicle home; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate above 40 mph. The contact called an independent body shop and an appointment was made to inspect the vehicle. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
The front passenger airbag light beeps even when there is no passenger. The airbag light is now off and shows there is no operable airbag. My vehicle was checked a month ago with no issues but this appears to be ongoing.
A service airbag indicator light appeared on my 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. The vehicle has under 100k miles and was never involved in an accident. I brought the vehicle into a Chevrolet service center and they advised that the passenger airbag will not deploy in the event of an accident. The Chevrolet service center advised that the repair would cost $1382 for a new passenger airbag module. I contacted gm and their advisor followed up with me. Per our conversation the reason that the airbag needs to be replaced will not be further investigated. They will not cover the cost of replacement. A case number was assigned but advisor declined to provide written documentation of our conversation but agreed to follow-up with written estimate from service center. At this time the passenger airbag module is available for inspection and is with the owner.

I was involved in a car accident on November 16, 2020 and neither of my airbags deployed.
After shopping and on my way home the chime that sounds when your seatbelt is off started chiming. As I looked at the dash there was a message that stated to service the airbag. I was surprised because in all the years I have been driving I have never received anything like this with the airbag. I drove the vehicle the next day and the message goes on and off constantly along with the chime noise. It's extremely irritating. Should this be a recall issue?.
Vehicle was in motion traveling straight going approximately 50mph when it struck another vehicle that failed to yield the right of way. The Equinox suffered extensive front end damage on the drivers side but no airbags deployed.

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that when a passenger was seated in the front passenger seat, the air bag system failed to function. The front passenger also was seated with a cushion and the light continued to fail to illuminate indicating a passenger was in the seat. The dealer was notified of the failure several times and was unable to provide a specific diagnosis and repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 12,000.
I looked away from my driving for perhaps 2 seconds, when my car drifted to the edge of the road-- it was raining and the grass was very slick and pulled me on into the ditch. While trying to get out of my slide, I hit a road sign with my front bumper. Immediately, I was told "airbag deployed". . . However, it did not deploy. I could smell something, like electrical burning, but the airbags stayed inside their compartment, or whatever.
