Front crankshaft seal has a leak that sprays onto serpentine belt causing belt failure and major oil leak. The seal has been replaced and the problem is occurring again. I have gone through 5 belts in less than a year and too much oil to track. Also unknown airbag and stabilitrac warning lights are on and cause cannot be identified.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled and jerked without warning, while driving at various speeds. The contact also stated that the vehicle experienced issues with oil consumption and that the vehicle had to be taken to have the oil changed every 1,000 miles. Additionally, the passenger's side air bag warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to jack phelan Chevrolet, inc (4000 s. Harlem Ave, stickney, IL 60402) where they diagnosed the vehicle with a defective fuel pump and air bag warning light that needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.
