My check engine light came on so I took it in to get assessed. With less than 90,000 miles, this vehicle requires a new engine. It consumes a lot of oil and has been since I bought it one year ago, me having to add oil every 2 weeks. Also, the timing chain needs replacement-which is still only a temporary fix. Every mechanic I have spoken to says this year, make and model has been having to replace the engine. And there is no recall.
My vehicle had a oil change at 86,000 miles. I hit 90,722 miles . The vehicle was running fine and when I got off work and tried to start the car it started but then shut off. I had no check engine lights, no low oil light and had a perfect diagnostics report on my onstar, I had to get the vehicle towed to a dealer per on star, after speaking to the dealer I was informed the motor blew up because it jumped time and dumped oil. I was also told this is a common problem with this motor but gm is refusing to fix it because the warranty just went up 6 months ago . I have been told by several shops chevy knows about this time chain or jumping time issue and in most cases a new motor is required. I would like to understand why no warning lights came on and how oil could dump after having a oil change 3,000 miles give or take ? and why chevy is passing the problem onto the customer.
When vehicle is up to normal operating temperature engine stalls when trying to go forward or reverse from a stopped position. This is a dangerous vehicle it stall at intersections and at stop lights when accelerating. No check engine light but scan tool indicates intake timing advanced but cam shaft actuator is good.
Check engine light came on and the reading is saying that I have a problem with the cam shaft. Vehicle has 60,000 miles on it and exceptional upkeep has been made. This is absolutely ridiculous I will never buy a gm vehicle again because your customer services is repulsive. I am a single person on one income I thought that I had a reliable vehicle but I see now that I dont.
With not quite 63,000 miles the check engine light keeps coming in and I get alerts from on-star. My mechanic looked it up and an occurring problem with this yr. Its a valve that sends oil to the dual cams. . . It had no power and was using way more has and oil than usual. . . This is the 4th time in a month it has been looked at. . . It also seems to have the lurching tranny problem ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.
Check engine light came on got a notification from onstar stating that engine and transmission system issue has been detected. Also when I shut down my vehicle and restarted it the starter keep making this sound like it wanted to start and did not then did. Then I got a message on the dash saying that something was wrong with power steering.
My vehicle had turned off while driving it sputtered a bit the shut off. . I started it back up then I drove home and took it to the dealership the following day. No check engine lights or anything ever popped up to giving any warning. Dealership said it was a solenoid idk if I spelled that right. I hope its the problem.
For a few days my car was running rough then while driving down the road about 45 mph it suddenly lost power and really began running rough. There were no warning lights, nothing. I pulled over and turned the car off and then turned it back on. It still was running rough. At this point the check engine light came on and a message popped saying the engine was running at reduced power. I drove 1/2 mile at ~ 15 mph to drop my daughter at school. At that point the car totally died. When it was taken to the shop it was found to have no oil. There was no indication that my car was out of oil or running low on oil and it probably had about 3500 miles since last oil change. My engine was ruined and now I have to purchase another motor! not happy as the car had about ~100k miles and that's low to me. And apparently there are issues with these engines so I am probably just paying to put another bad engine in!.
The vehicle stalls upon going a slow rate of speed as when backing out of a driveway, driving in a parking lot, or stopping and trying to perform a turn on a city street. It can also stall on the interstate if you idle while slowed due to traffic stops. You have to turn the car off and restart the vehicle. It stalls about 3-4 times a trip. Several times a day. The check engine light is on.
Our 2015 Chevrolet Equinox with 62,900 miles stalled multiple times while in reverse backing out of our driveway. No engine light showing. While stopped at a traffic light on a major street and intersection, the car stalled a few times. You have to give it gas when shifting from park to drive to avoid stalling. After 1 day, the check engine light came on. It was time for an oil change so I had them check the code. It came back as bank one camshaft sensor p0011. The next day, all was fine and no check engine light. 2 days later, multiple stalls at stop lights and in parking lights when the car is going slow, starting from a stop and check engine light came back on.
The vehicle started with a check engine light. Vehicle has 46000 miles. When cold, engine stalls at random stops at a light, parking lot, drive thru. Vehicle must be put into park and restarted causing a safety hazard and driving danger. Code flashes p0011. Dealer stated vehicle needs new sensor. $300 repair. This problem should be a recall, as a stalling problem is a saftety hazard and should be reimbursed by gm. Can cause an accident in an intersection by blocking traffic at random.
Engine stalled several times while driving and just shut off while driving and the check engine light came on. Took the vehicle to have codes checked it showed camshaft position sensor, so had that replaced and the vehicle continued to shut off while driving after that was replaced and the check engine light appeared on again. Took the vehicle to Chevrolet dealership to be told that the camshaft position actuator needed to be replaced which cost me about $350. 00. This seems to be a common problem with the chevy Equinox's and they need to be recalled for it because it is very dangerous to be driving and your vehicle just stops while driving down the highway.
The check engine light, is on I have 50,000 miles it shut off when u come to stop or idle. . Pulled code came back as p0010,& p0011, camshaft position actuator . This car has been excellent cared for. Unexceptionable. . Car was in motion, on the streets, highway s. Cars blowing for me to pull off. Have to drive with flasher to keep cars back to keep from getting rear ended.
Engine stalled in heavy traffic. Restarted after turning ignition off and on. Car kept hesitating every time from brake to gas when trying to move forward from stopped. Check engine light came on with code p0010. Dealer kept it for 4 days and couldn't find the problem, no charge. 10 days late the issue returned. Car stalled 4 times in a few miles of stop and go traffic. Seems to only happen after car sits idling in traffic. Move foot from brake to gas and engine dies. Taking to the dealer again next business day. After google searches it appears that the 'camshaft position actuator solenoid valve needs to be replaced. I hope the dealer has google search.
About 4-6 months ago, my car started to jolt every now and again, while driving it, but it never shut off. Last week, when I was backing out of a parking spot, the car died when I shifted it into drive to leave. It took a while to turn back on, but did start up again. On my way home, it shut off again while in motion. Once I got home, the check engine light popped on and I did not drive it again until the next day. I went to wash it, as I do weekly, and fill up the gas tank. The check engine light turned off. The next morning, I was driving to work and the car cut off again while in motion. Once I was able to get it restarted, I drove it to the closest mechanic immediately. They attempted to look at the car and diagnose it for the greater part of the day. The machine was reading a cam shaft issue; however, when they inspected it, there was no issue with it. The mechanic stated that he has seen this issue with the chevy Equinox several times and that changing the intake/outtake valves gives a temporary resolve; however, the problem typically comes down to the engine/motor having to be replaced, which is approximately a $6000 repair bill, or take a complete loss on the car. , because metal shards and other things get trapped in the engine/motor that can't be removed. They did replace the valves, which cost me $400+, told me to keep doing what I do, in terms of keeping maintenance up, and hope that something is done before the engine/motor needs replacing. I am responsible for my transportation and that of my two children (ages 1 & 11). I cannot have my car stop, in the middle of me driving it, and have that result in a fatal loss of me and/or my children. A simple internet search shows that multiple years of this make/model car have the same issue and it is alarming that no recall is in place. The consumer is being left to cover the cost of safety in faulty vehicles.
