1 Engine Rattling And Whining Sounds problem

Failure Date: 05/31/2020

Went on 1,000 mile trip and car died. Was able to jump it every time and it started. Return trip of another 1,000 miles. Car was chugging while parked. Later engine was making a rattling sound. Put it in reverse to park and engine died. Made a terrible noise when trying to start it. Took to dealership and they said that the timing chain caused engine to fail and also oil was completely dry. I get my vehicle serviced regularly by randy reed Chevrolet in st. Joseph, mo (free of charge since purchasing the vehicle 2 years ago) was never once told of an oil burning issue. After doing research I find it shocking that this is a common problem with this make and model of car. This vehicle is only 5 years old and should not have a failing engine! now I'm stuck making payments on a car I can not even use with repairs that cost as much as another car.

2 Engine Rattling And Whining Sounds problem

Failure Date: 03/23/2020

The check engine light has been on since the end of March 2020. My mechanic is unable to figure out the problem. No codes come up on the computer for diagnosing the problem. 2 sensors have been changed. Took it into the mechanic's yesterday and there was little to no oil in the vehicle. I was just due for an oil change. The engine makes a rattling sound when it is started up. Very frustrated because I have not had problems with 4 other gm vehicles that I have purchased in the past. This is the first problem vehicle that I have ever owned. I do not want to own another chevy again.

3 Engine Rattling And Whining Sounds problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2018

I parked my car on Monday night and heard a rattling noise and the engine sounded like it was knocking. I turned it on and off and it started again. The next day I get in to take my two young children to school and the car wouldn't start. I called the dealer and had the car towed and the dealer tells me that I need a new engine. The vehicle has 58,352 miles so it as far I know it should be covered under the power train warranty as I have less that 100,000 miles and its only 3 yrs old since I bought it brand new. Well gm will not cover the motor because I didn't take it to the dealer to have oil changes done. Since they have no record of the oil changes despite that fact that I did them every 3000 miles as recommended they will not give me a new motor yet I still have to pay $510 a month for a car that I can no longer drive. Gray Chevrolet is the dealer the car is at and they are the worst. Gm doesn't honor their warranties and should be put out of business. I will never ever buy a gm vehicle ever again. Why was there no lights on the dashboard prior? how do I need a motor over night when I had no problems previously? why is that gm will not honor their warranty or at least send someone to the dealer to investigate? why won't gm at least call gray Chevrolet to find out what happened as opposed to reading something to me from a computer screen? why would they not try to assist their customers? im stranded with 2 kids and no one care. Don't ever by any vehicle from gm!!!!!!!!.
