Hatchback/liftgate Problems of Chevrolet Equinox

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that when opening the rear hatch, the door would rapidly open and then erroneously close. The contact indicated that the safety feature designed to detect a person reaching into the rear hatch area was inoperable. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Brittain Chevrolet (57 e. Martin st, east palestine, OH) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 54,000.

The back hatch lock will not release on my 2010 Equinox to open the hatch. It started with a difficult try to open it. Now it will not open at all. I am bringing it to the dealer tomorrow (it is out of warranty over 36,0000 miles) this hatch is not open every day. In reality it is open only about once a week, so it shouldn't have broken.

+2010 Equinox liftgate goes all the way up, but in a couple of seconds slowly comes back down to about 3/4 open. I tried everything to correct the problem. Could not find anything on the internet of anyone else having this problem.

Rear hatch 'pumps' stopped working. One could lose a limb or become decapitated. Therefore, the rear section of car is not usable, nor can one clean the inside of the rear window. I do not feel that this is the kind of thing that the owner should have to be responsible for repairing. I have never had (out of many gm lift back vehicles) this type of thing happen.
