Battery was draining within the first year. Replaced it and happened again within a few months. Couldn't find the problem. Consistently needed to charge and boost the battery. Left me stuck with my kids in the car several times. Lights on dash kept going on and off going black & back on. Different lights kept coming on like service airbag, stability track, engine light, etc. Giving false readings, finally whole middle console went black, heater turned on and would not go off, could not access temp control, radio, bluetooth, etc. Battery and power was the main issue. Electrical problems. Started in may of 2018, my lease recently expired and here I am sitting at the dealer 05/27/2020 finally having them trying to get to the bottom of these problems throughout my 3 year lease.

My vehicles check engine light came on then the stability light came on the vehicle sounded like it was choking. When we got it to the repair shop it stalled out and when the shop did shove investigation there was no oil in the vehicle. Although there was no warning about oil being low or lights on. As we were bringing vehicle to shop it smelled of burning. Vehicle started malfunctioning when stationary and became worse when in motion.

Stability traction service light continuously comes on and eventually goes off. It happens every time I drive the vehicle. It happens on city streets, mountain and hills with many curves, highways and at various speeds. I purchased the vehicle used through a dealership in January of 2018 and I have had this problem since then. It does not show up on my onstar diagnostic that I receive monthly. I complained to the ceo of gm. And did get a response. The representative that I spoke with called the dealership to see if they would check the problem free. But they would not. I saw other complaints from owners that have paid a large amount of money to fix the problem and no one has figured out what is causing it. I feel there should be an investatgation regarding this problem. I would appreciate any feedback concerning the the stability traction service light on the chevy Equinox. Thank you.
This SUV has had a new transmission, motor and now it has been just cuts out and no power and on the message center says stability track light we have put a new battery and brought it to two different gm certified car garages and no one knows what to do car is unsafe when it just decides to randomly stall out and has no power until after it sits for about 5 min it may restart or may need a jump start very scary situation it can happen when driving on freeway or in town or even in line a drive thru line in park you never know this has happened about 6-8 times and there is no warning of when it will happen nor any kind of pattern very scary and unsafe.

The stability tracking service light continuously comes on then eventually goes off. I have called onstar several times to run a diagnostic check and nothing shows up. Tt does it on straight roads and curves slow or fast. It also has not come up on my monthly diagnostics from onstar. I have read other complaints regarding the same problem. When I told the service dept. At the dealership they had not heard anything either. Does anyone know what would cause this to happen, how unsafe it is and what does it take for a recall to be issued?.
"takata recall" stability traction control indicator lights. No warning for brake problem. The brakes locked up and wouldn't stop or slow the car before entering a curve on a major highway.

Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that the vehicle had failed to move forward when in drive, failed to retain brake fluid, the vehicle suddenly slows down and the brakes had locked several times intermittently. The stability traction control and brake lights had been illuminating randomly when the failure happened. The dealer john thornton Chevrolet (1971 thornton rd, lithia springs, GA 30122, (678) 303-4071) indicated that there was brake contamination provided an extensive diagnosis but did not specify which specific parts may need to be replaced at this point so the contact was uncertain if they actually had a permanent remedy to repair the vehicle. An independent mechanic stated that the abs system would need to be further inspected and that the brake master cylinder may need to be replaced. The manufacturer had issued 7 TSB on brakes, 1 TSB on traction control but have not yet issued a recall for both components. The manufacturer provided no solution other than taking the vehicle for the dealer for a diagnosis and repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was not available. Dyd.

I bought my Equinox used in 2015 with 87,000. Since having it, I've replaced the tire valve sensors (broke again). I was told that fixing them are a waste of time and money because they will continue to malfunction. I've replaced turn signal handle. A month later, I have to manually turn off my turning signals no matter how sharp or wide my turns are. Since I first got my vehicle, my stability traction service light, I think the abs light and check engine light pops on. Can't take to mechanic due to the issues not being constant. Once I caught engine light on,it was a egr valve, replaced that. Issue continues. When I try to accelerate quickly, my vehicle seems to hesitate and/or stall.
2997 chevy Equinox - the car was in motion around 60mph, while driving the brakes activate by themselves and the abs, stability track lights come on. The vehicle stalled in the interstate several times. The car would not move when I accelerate. It seems at if all the brakes are active and not allowing the car to move. After almost getting clipped by a semi I had to think fast. I read the manual and found the abs fuses. In order to move the car I have to remove the abs motor fuse and the abs system fuse. This bypasses the system and the car is able to move. I have taken to a mechanic and they replaced dealer parts abs module and abs modulator "motor". I paid $1800 for the repair. Car has same issue as I drove a way from shop. When it stalled after repair I removed the fuses again and drove it back to the shop for repair again. Shop says these parts replaced are dealer parts and they will replace again with new parts. Called the Chevrolet dealership on this and they mention that there is no issue/recall with this at the time. The car has $80k miles and has been at the shop for two weeks still under diagnostics to try to determine the cause. Frustrated!.
I drove my car to the store went in for about an hour. When I came back out my car wouldn't start. I thought my car battery had went dead so I got a jump but then I noticed my stability track light was on and that my power steering had went out. As soon as I made it home turned the car off and tried to restart it, it went dead again. As I look up to see what could be wrong with my vehicle I've noticed that this is a common malfunction that seems to be happening a lot. I know cars can go out but this also happen a lot where a consumer spends there hard earned money only to be duked in the end. I've only had my car for four months and although it's used I felt that I should have been notified of this and it should have been my decision on whether or not I want to purchase the vehicle. Even though I was lucky and didn't crash. I hope that this does become a recall as it is way to dangerous.
The speedomenter quits working it will work off and on at will ,I have had it in the shop 3 times when it quits working the stability control light starts flashing saying it needs service , I am afraid it will quit working all together.
While driving down the road lost all power reduced power and stability control light came on. Just checked oil on December 17 it was full and checked it on December 19 and it didn't have any oil in it and it is not leaking anywhere on the car.
The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 15 mph, the steering wheel seized as the electronic stability control warning light illuminated. As a result, the vehicle crashed into a mailbox. A police report was filed and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000.
While driving the 2011 Equinox will jerk or jump as if being hit from behind while attempting to accelerate between 2nd and 3rd gear. The check engine light will not turn off. The stability track light comes on and off periodically while in motion. When the car is being turned off it shakes as if the motor is going to fall out. I have to turn off the ac before turning the ignition switch to off position to decrease some of the shaking, yet it does not prevent it. Furthermore while driving at approx. . 30-35mphs, the car jumps to 5th gear without allowing to accelerate any faster in the mist of traffic. The 2011 Chevrolet Equinox shakes and makes a wining noise while idling. It does so to the point where the hood is shaking. The car only has 54000 miles on it. Also I have to constantly adjust the seatbelt while driving because it cuts into my neck which is very uncomfortable and a huge distraction. This car will now go forward in drive but it will not reverse.

I'm not sure if I had written you already , its complicated, but here goes. I bought a 2007 chevy Equinox in August 9, 2014 . August 29, 2007 is when the first of many problems started. The stability a light came on,at the exact time the lights came on the car would slow way, way down it didnt even register on how many miles I was going thats how slow the car moved, then it came to a complete stop. I waited a few seconds and tried to start the car and it did start. This kept happening about 4 or 5 times, then on December 12, 20014 it did it again, but this time it would not start up again. I had to have the car towed, I had all of my 10 year old christmas gifts still in the car. The garage had my car from Dec. 12 tru to March 20, 2015, then it was towed to another garage, the first garage could not locate the problem. Ok, the second garage had it, they charged me $160. 00 I got the car back on April 10, 2015 I drove it for four days and it did it again, now this car has died in the middle of intersections before and it did it again on April 13 2015. I was stuck in the middle of a very busy intersection, there was this huge dump truck headed right for me, I was scared to death, I almost always have my grandchildren with me thank god they werernt this time. When my car was moving very slowly the stabilitrac light did not come on, after a couple of minutes after the fact they did come on. Two men pushed me out from the middle of the intersection. There was smoke coming from the hood of the car. The first thing I thought of it might have been the radiator, but come to find out it was not the radiator. I had the car towed again to a different garage, they looked it over very well and called me to tell me there's a wire that caught on fire and it burned.
Transmission will not shift into third gear without letting off the gas, valve body solenoid problem. Rear wiper motor bad, ignition gets stuck on with key in, have to put gear shifter in and out of gear multiple times to get key out. Electronic stability control off lights comes on after just a few seconds of vehicle being started. Alternator was whining extremely loud, had to replace. Heater blend door broken, cannot have hot air for winter or cold a/c in summer. Sounds like water rushing through dash board when car is started. Very heavy odor of antifreeze inside car when heat is on.
I was stopped at stoplight at 8pm the car shook as I started to turn left and the stability control light came on then low power engine light came on in my 2011 Equinox. The car powered down to 2 mph, it would not accelerate so I turned into a parking lot, shut the car off and turned it back on same thing happened again. I called onstar and had the car towed to phillips Chevrolet (great service) in frankfort, IL. The service manager called and told me that the throttle body had to be replaced. I had the extended warranty so the cost was $100. 00 to me, without the warranty it would have been $600. 00 to fix. I asked if he has replaced many throttle bodies in this model car he said quite a few. The car was fixed. I emailed Chevrolet and asked how many throttle bodies have been replaced in all cars, they said no recalls on this car. I was unsatisfied with their answer, that was not my question. Chevrolet called me back and said that a person would call me about my concern. They called and told me the same story, no recalls and the dealer could have been lying to me, which made me upset. I asked to speak with a supervisor and he told there were no records kept of how many throttle bodies have been replaced, which I do not believe. He also told me about a fuel pump problem that chevy would fix only if my car had a problem and a chain belt problem that could a cause serious problem to the engine if the car showed symptoms. I was not happy with that answer either. I will take my car in for a chain belt and fuel pump check now that I am aware of the potential problem. The supervisor told me that I would have to contact your agency about my concern. I would like an answer to my original question, how many throttle bodies have been replaced in Chevrolet cars? why did this happen and will a recall be issued? thank you.
I took my car into a power Chevrolet dealership back in September, they said there had been a recall for the coils/spark plugs. They fixed the issue, as my car had been stalling as I accelerated. Now, recently my electric stability traction light came on, along with my engine and "service brakes" light. I had my brakes done back in October at the same time as they replaced the coil. My car is starting to stall and do the same as it was back in October. I am not sure why chevy is not recalling or sending out notices about these issues. It's hazardous. I contacted a lawyer.
Stability trac light came on, lost power steering, took it to chevy dealer, said low voltage condition, replaced battery, work for about a month, same problem again. Not the battery.

Stability traction control light came on with other warning lights (can't remember specifically what they said) as I was driving 40 mph. Car slowed down to about 20 and would not go any further. Fortunately I was able to get it to the dealership and it was repaired. Since then, I've had nothing but troubles. The warning light for the same will come on periodically but only as I start the car . . Maybe 1x every 3 months without any other problems. The electrical in the car is crap. My automatic driver side window will not function at all. The rear wiper no longer works. Sound on the driver side no longer works. Electric door lock no longer works on driver side I have to manually lock that door. I've had my car broken into because it appeared unlocked. Fortunately the alarm system still worked. Every once in a while there is a strong smell of burning electric. The smell is obvious on the inside of the vehicle as well as under the hood. I'm worried the car will catch on fire and my door locks will not function and someone will be killed.

I purchased a 2011 Equinox lt - Chevrolet -Dec 2010 - wanted a nice and safe car for the new year - I am a mother with small kids and wanted a smaller car than what I had, which was a Ford windstar, I had for 13 yrs. I started to have problems with the Equinox in July, August and again now, with the stability tract service light going on and lossing power and now this third time with no power to the trani - I could not change gears, I would give it gas and it just wouldn't move - then the car power locks go crazy -lock and unlock and the transmission jerks. I do not feel safe in this car. I hope they fix this problem and figure out what is wrong before someone or myself are in an accident.
