Front crankshaft seal has a leak that sprays onto serpentine belt causing belt failure and major oil leak. The seal has been replaced and the problem is occurring again. I have gone through 5 belts in less than a year and too much oil to track. Also unknown airbag and stabilitrac warning lights are on and cause cannot be identified.

Driving down the road my power engine lite comes on and acts like it is going to cut off , some times it does. My abs lite comes on at anytime, when coming to a stop my brakes slip and acts like it does not want to catch, brakes are new! also the 2010 uses about 4 to 5 qt in between oil changes and there is no leaks. Defogger does not work at all. And know having engine problems. Have changed the O2 sensor still says they need to be changed, have changed the manifold and says that still needs o be changed, engine light stays on. Stabilliy track light comes on all the time as well. This has been happening for over 6 years!.
I was driving home and drove over a pot hole in the road when I was turning at intersection, then approximately 3-5 seconds after curtain air bags deployed as well as the one from steering wheel. The steering wheel air bag did not fully inflate due to metal fragments that were shot out causing a puncture to the air bag and those fragments caused puncture wounds to my arm, and cracked the driver side door window. I was not in a collision at that time. I have the report from my insurance where it states this car had a recall for air bag issues one being that objects may cause injury and or death from shooting out. I had taken my vehicle to the dealership in June due to the stabilitrak and service air bags light was on. This was not disclosed to me at the time of purchase and any other time I took it in for services. After investigation thru my insurance it was declared a total loss. I have tried repeatedly and unsuccessfully, to reach out to management for over a month now and they seem to not want to help. I have photos to show condition of the vehicle, the 23 page report from my insurance as well as my injuries. I put $5000 down , included in that was a trade in. Now im left without a car and dealing with a dealership that seems not to care. On the 23rd page is where it states this vehicle may be one of the affected ones. Well it was because it happened to me. The insurance took possession of car over 2 weeks ago.

While driving suddenly stablitrak service light and engine light comes on. Door locks start unlocking and locking, all lights start flashing and car slows down. At the same time steering wheel becomes very tight and unable to turn. Happen while driving any speed. Have had many visits to mechanics: ecm replaced and programmed was the last attempt prior to that I had a new started put on. This is a known issue for Chevrolet's from my research. Recently bought a used 2014 chevy traverse lt and I'm started to see the same issues and I've only had it 1 week. I'm very upset these models aren't safe. To many times to count how many time it's happened maybe 30-40 in 1 year.

My vehicle won't start due to cpu and electrical malfunctioning and my loan warranty wouldn't cover the damages and I only had the car for 3 months mileage is under 105000. My negative terminal cable pops off my vehicle shuts down randomly, check engine light cuts on when I hit 3 rpms.
Purchased car 11/2014. Car completely shut off twice between 11/2014 and 02/2015. Had car towed to dealership. Was told computer was bad and was replaced. From 02/2015 - 07/2020 car has shut off over 50 times. Had car repaired to replace numerous sensors - camshaft to oxygen. Car would just off in the middle of driving on busy city streets and interstate highway. Recently car shut off in the middle of a busy intersection and I was almost hit. Car shut off 2 weeks ago during a major rain storm and the windshield wipers stopped working on the interstate. Car is now in the shop and being told the computer must be replaced and windshield linkage need to be repaired. Total cost of over $1,000.
The brake system locks and overheat. Even when new parts are put on . After 10 min of driving old problems due exist. From brake caliper to brake line to brake booster changed.

I drove home and parked my car. When to started my car the following morning and put it in drive. My car would not move forward only backwards. I had know idea that my transmission was going. I went to the chevy dealer many times earlier for oil consumption and my the sound of my transmission and they said that the just sound of the car. If they had been honest and told me the truth I could have gotten my transmission fixed many years earlier. Thankfully my oil consumption was fixed only because I called corporate and pushed the issue. I believed the dealer when he told me all the Equinox sound like that. Now I have to pay over $3000. 00 for that lie. My car is being fixed by hobby's transmission in hicksville, NY as we speak. My car is a lemon. Corporate told me that my care was in the batch of cars that have oil consumption. I will be calling them about my transmission on Monday, 6/22/20.
A couple of days ago I started experiencing issues with vehicle. At speeds over 60 the steering wheel would shake and when coming to a stop the car would do a rocking motion. Today on the highway the car was driving fine than randomly a light popped on that said low oil consumption turn off engine and the car began excessively smoking from under hood. I pulled over and checked I the oil and it was empty added 4 quarts it was still empty looked under car and oil had leaked everywhere. No prior warning lights or check oil or low oil pressure lights were on. I get proper oil changes when due. A couple of moths back I was having several electrical issues with the vehicle as well were the lights on the dash would pop on and off air and radio would turn itself on and off, doors locking and unlocking etc. And took it to a certified chevy dealer to have it checked and have the issue fixed and these issues were months after I had the transmission replaced after it fails months after purchasing g the car.
While in motion the car randomly and quickly decelerates and will not allow you to accelerate. Phillips Chevrolet has attempted to repair the car citing engine power reduction, transmission, stabilatrak and non verifiable issues over a 2 month period. Within that 2 month period, may 18, 2020 to July 24, 2020, there were 7 attempts to repair the car. All 7 attempts were unsuccessful. Between June 22, 2020 and July 30, 2020 there were more than 20 telephone calls placed between general motors and I, regarding this vehicle and it's engine, transmission and non-verifiable issues. General motors and phillips Chevrolet are refusing to acknowledge that the car is a lemon. There are currently a little over 8,500 miles on the car and I am in fear of my life each time I enter the car and I have made phillips Chevrolet and general motors aware of this issue. This is my second NHTSA report. The initial NHTSA report is 302587, was filed on June 22, 2020. Phillips Chevrolet and general motors are refusing to provide me with a safe vehicle to travel in despite 7 service visits with phillips Chevrolet, and more than 20 telephone interactions with general motors. There a more reports but your system will only allow me five documents,.

First the service airbag light comes on and none of the buttons on the steering wheel work. Now the horn is continuously blowing while driving, and won't stop until the car is turned off.
The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that the lane departure assist feature displayed on the instrument panel that the contact was outside of the intended lane, despite the contact being within the lane. The contact stated that another feature of the system was that the steering wheel would vibrate to indicate the vehicle departed the lane however, the feature activated intermittently while the vehicle was still in the lane. Lou bochrodt auto mall (7070 cherryvale n blvd, rockford, IL 61112, (815) 332-3000) was contacted and informed of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30.

Check engine light came on got a notification from onstar stating that engine and transmission system issue has been detected. Also when I shut down my vehicle and restarted it the starter keep making this sound like it wanted to start and did not then did. Then I got a message on the dash saying that something was wrong with power steering.
Stabilitrac light, power steering light come on and all the gauges start to go up and down while driving on highway.
Bought the car used 8 months ago with 55k miles. I have driven it 20k miles, and it burns oil, with the oil light not being illuminated, yet the computer tells me I have a higher % of oil life left. Timing chain is going out, I had to replace the battery, and the stabilitrak system turns off. When starting the vehicle everything appears fine, but between 0-20mph with awd on the break system seems to be failing; then when stabilitrak is turned off the vehicle performs normal. I feel very unsafe driving my car. Most of these issues occured while the vehicle was in motion.

Can't disable traction or stability control won't let me go over 50 mph on highway or in town streets brakes burnt to nothing left and brake hose melted close almost caused a fire and had to replace the entire brake system on both front tires. Use cruise control to drive after going 40 mph to get to 70 mph on highway only way to get to 70 mph without using gas petal or brake so the stability control would not engage. Slowed down by turning off cruise control unless I had to stop at a red light then I used the brake petal then after a few minutes later stability control engaged then had to pull over and turned off vehicle wait a few minutes then restart vehicle press brakes to release then got back on road and repeat .

While driving, at 55mph my check engine light came on without warning and the dash showed "service stabilitrak" and the vehicle suddenly reduced speed to around 30mph before I could apply the gas. I immediately too the vehicle to monro muffler and brake for service. When I arrived, I was informed that the vehicle had no oil. I performed regular oil changes on this vehicle. There was no indication about low oil pressure, the vehicle did not overheat. The engine now needs to be replaced.
Digital speed won't light up. No light driving or still m.
Always had car serviced regularly, oil changed. At 99k, reduced engine power, service stabli track, engine making clicking sound, accelerating at first would make a strange hum sound and then it reduced engine power when I had my children in the car. Took it to our local mechanic and they said I need a new timing chain, bone dry for oil, solenoid valves it needed new ones. . . . End result, pretty much a whole new engine, cost me almost 3000 to pay. I had no choice because it was my only vehicle and im a single mother with 2 kids. Reading other peoples complaints, this is a major issue and only a recall for 2011-2013 only?? how has this not been addressed as of yet? I will be reaching out to gm about this because I had no warning lights until the last second when my car pretty much stopped on the interstate with my children in the car.
While driving vehicle doors are locking and unlocking themselves, radio and heat turns off and on, blinkers not working, headlights flash on and off by themselves, airbag, stability control and abs flash on and off on dash. Rpm and speedometer are at zero while driving and accelerating, gas hand shows on low fuel when there's gas on the car. Took to have vehicle scanned and alternator is reading at too high voltage and revived 15 error codes all relating to speed sensor, engine and transmission control model malfunction, power train control module and camshaft position circuit errors etc.
Car is burning oil at abnormally fast rate. I have been driving with quart of oil in my car at all times since finding out about existing problem with earlier model year vehicles and noticing the pattern in my vehicle. Check engine light and reduced engine power notification came on while driving on highway. The stability track notification came on as well. I am now being told by local mechanic that I may need a new engine. I was informed by local dealership that timing shaft and actuator may need to be replaced just to get the car to start. The underlying problem is the same as the existing problem in class action lawsuit for 2010-2013 models. Chevrolet has built an engine that doesn't work and they need to pay for this. How many complaints does there need to be before something is done.
Turned car on (in driveway) and service esc light came on. Traction control, stability control, and driver front and lane assist all disengaged. Unable to manually turn back on through steering controls. Stopped the vehicle, parked in a parking lot, and turned on and off multiple times and the service esc light was still on. Drove to destination with the service esc light still on, turned off vehicle, waited a few minutes, turned it back on and the service esc light was off. Contacted local chevy dealer's service department. Was told to drive around for a couple more days and see if the issue returns. If it does return after a few days, recommended to schedule service.
While driving, the tires felt like they were being locked up to keep from fishtailing even though roads were clear and dry with normal acceleration. After driving, parked vehicle and sat in it for an hour. Afterwards, turned vehicle on and the screen stated to service esc. Stabilitrak, lane assist, and parking assist light came on. After a couple hours with the vehicle off and drove a block, the warning lights turned off and became normal. Then after an hour of the vehicle sitting and turned off for an hour, we began driving on the highway, after an hour of driving, the screen stated to service esc again. Stabilitrak, lane assist, and parking assist light came on again.
Equinox has 4636 miles and all three times it has been driven in snow a service esc message comes on dash and traction control and stability control are turned off along with awd. One time was highway driving, and other two times on a local street. Also while driving down the highway the dash message said reduced engine power (stayed on for 400 miles/two days) may reduce speeds to 50 mph. Rpm's stared running 1000 higher to maintain speed and fuel economy dropped about 8 mpg. Gm mechanic didn't have time to diagnose but said the turbo was frozen because of temperatures (-10 degrees) and that it needed a winter front and new intake tube. Mechanic said he has seen this problem over 10 times with the same engine that day.
I bought my used 2010 chevy Equinox from the dealer, and 2 weeks later the service stabilitrak light came on. Took it to the dealer, they did an alignment and the same day the light came back on with traction control light. The next day I went to the grocery store, and when I tried to start it to leave it wouldn't start. After 2 tries, it finally started but then the reduced engine power light came on and wouldn't go above 25 mph. Eventually the vehicle powered down and I had to pull over for a tow truck to come. The chevy dealer said it was the main timing chain (not covered) and something else in the engine but I would have to pay for labor to disassemble it. My car has been out of service and sitting at the dealer for now 10 days. Luckily I wasn't on the highway when this happened, and decided to go to the store before heading to work. Carfax reports indicate the timing chain and fuel pump was replaced at 40,000 miles already. I see a lot of people with this problem in much scarier situations. I believe this should be a recall before something happens.
Vehicle was in motion approximately 45 mph when check engine light came on, message then appeared that engine power is reduced and speed immediately dropped to around 15 mph and then to a rough idle at approx 5-10mph. Was almost rear ended by vehicle traveling behind me. I was able to limp remaining 2 miles home and contacted dealer. Appointment was made and dealer reported code p2135 and replaced throttle body. . Dealer said throttle didn't know up from down. Dealer stated this is a common problem with the Equinox. I have read many complaints online about this same issue with other owners reporting being put in a dangerous position with the sudden drop in speed like we were. I contacted chevy gm and they said there were no recalls. If rapid acceleration has been treated by other companies as recall worthy, I dont understand why chevy does not consider this recall worthy. I have attached the repair report with this complaint.
This should clearly be a recall based on all the poste everyone is having the same issue. All my lights come on stabilitrack, abs, check engine, steering fluid. I barely have any power, and my speed sensor no longer reads at all. Also my oil burns extremely fast. Link to forum where everyone is having the same issue. Https://chevroletforum. Com/forum/equinox-23/service-stabilitrak-check-engine-light-62780/page11/.
Engine is burning oil at an alarming rate. Every 1,000 miles there will be no oil on the dip stick. No warning light has came on stating my oil is low. I could have blown my engine multiple times if I didn't check my oil regularly. This is not safe. I bought this car from a dealership 5 months ago and have already had to get 3 oil changes bc of the excessive amount of oil loss plus have had to add oil in between.
Vehicle was parked, started fine backed up out of space. When pulling forward the warning busser came on and display read stabil track. Pulled to side of road and turned off engine after 2min. I restarted engine, the warning stayed on. Drove about 3 miles to dealership, was told to drive it as appt not availble till tues. Engine slowed down could only get to 35mph. After another 5miles it started working so we were able to get home. I have done all required mateniace have 69,000 miles on it, now. If this is a major problem when I reach this milage, what is my recourse?.
