Tire Problems of Chevrolet Express

Lt245/75r16 the fist tire failure was rear driver's side which caused a code service stable trac- this caused the vehicle to lose power and engine to die. I made home at 20mph in yraffic. I spent $500 for diagnostic check and new tire. The tire is misshapen and alerts sensor that caused engine to lose power and ultimately die. With new tire the problem was solved. But then the rear passenger tire while on the freeway acted up and caused the van to shake and rattle violently. Drove home at lower speed . I replace that tire with the spare which is a different brand and the van ran fine. Checked the bad tire and it is higher on one side than the other. Checked front tires and there are flat spots and irregularities on both tires.

Update to case 11444012 I replaced the 2 tires and goodyear inspected my other tires and said no problem selling 3 year old tires. Now another one of these tires is cracking. Driving along interstate 10 our motor home began to shake like tires being out of balance. I stopped at Express tire in fredericksburg, TX. They found that the tread was separating on three of the six tires. Because we were traveling I only replaced the three problem tires. Continuing our trip we traveled another 1,000 miles and a fourth tire separated. At that time I was only 200 miles from returning home so had the spare put on and continued home with no further problems. I do intend on purchasing four more new tires before our next trip.

2015 Chevrolet city Express. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle tires issue. Consumer has previous complaints with different vehicles listed in artemis. The consumer stated the tires were wearing out on the inside and outside edges prematurely. The alignment was checked and it was within the recommended specifications.

In wet weather,the vehicle's stopping distance was greatly increased at very low speeds. The consumer was traveling down a slight incline at approximately 10 mph and the applied brakes, however the vehicle slid through the intersection. The vehicle had slid through several intersections and stop lights in the past.

At highway speed, rear tire tread separated and tire exploded causing vehicle to swerve and almost collide with other vehicles. Excessive damage caused to underside and wheel arch. Firestone steeltex a/t tires(3) - failures. On 3 separate occasions, steeltex a/t tires manufactred by bridgestone firestone and fitted as original equipment on my Chevrolet truck failed. Each tire failed under normal driving conditions. I consider the tires to be faulty and very unsafe because 3 of the 4 tires failed on my vehicle within a matter of a few months of each other. Quite serious damage resulted in each incident. The tires 3 have been returned to firestone, as requested, and have been examined by lisoni & lisoni, ntsa officials and the firestone representatives. I would like NHTSA to recall all steeltex tires to ensure they are completely removed from the market. Someone is going to get killed! thank you. Two separate incidents of tire failure. Firestone replacing tires at no cost for defect. On first incident had complete tread separation. On second incident customer stopped vehicle and changed tire. Tire was deformed on tread surface as if delamination or separation were about to occur. Tire was still on rim when customer turned vehicle in. It was still holding 70 lbs. Of air (max pressure recommended on rear tire 80 lbs. (tiresize: lt245 75 r).

Approximately 6 weeks ago I noticed that the air pressure in my tires had lowered, & I shought with the weight variance that there wasn't a problem. I contacted firestone, & they had informed me of no recall. The problem continues, & I stopped by jenor tire in thiensville, WI, & they informed me that my front right tire was showing signs of seperation. I was driving on the interstate with 14 passengers when I felt the van start to ride rough and then felt a flapping from rear of vehicle. I had some vibration then the tire tread peeled off and hit the side of the van. Ii drove on the remaing air bladder till I could get the tire replaced. The dot number I gve you is not from the damaged tire but 1 of the original 5 tires that came with the vehicle. ( dot number: vn11b1a058 tire size: lt24575r16 ).
