Body Problems of Chevrolet Express 1500

The passenger side swing doors are very hard to open and shut and the drivers side swing doors are in the initial stage of this. The passenger swing door that is first to open (right) does not want to open and doesn't want to shut. I have to force it. The second door (left) is getting worse as well. This is causing the interior light pin in the door jam to not push in all the way, therefore; the lights will not shut off.

I was traveling east thro an intersection when a truck on the my right ramed me in the front right side of my car. I felt the car spin and the truck ended up in my right rear bumper and when I came to a stop both airbags deployed and I was injured and the airbags exployed and I have eye damage to my right eye and neck injury and back injury. Still seeing spine dr. And eye dr every 6 months.

Not sure I have this under the right "affected parts", I purchased a new van, had driven my prev van 238,000+ miles so I know how to use mirrors, however, the split mirrors on these new vans do not allow you to see properly backing up & I found this to be a danger. Contacted chev and they were not interested in doing anything about it so I purchased solid mirrors and replaced them at my own expense. Wondered if there were any other complaints????.

Hinges broke; doors are unsafe.

The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Express 1500. The contact stated that both rear doors were extremely hard to open and close. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer, who stated that the doors were manufactured to operate as they were. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacture was notified about the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

We own both a 1998 and 2000 express van and we have a problem with both of them with regards to the side passenger doors (the 'double' doors). We have had a dealer drill holes in the hinges to lubricate them as they seize up and become very hard to open and close. This is just a temporary and eventually an ineffective fix. I believe this is a safety hazard as we have 6 children of which 3 have to sit in the back seat and if there were to be an emergency we wouldn't be able to get the left door open to get the kids out faster.
