Tire Pressure Monitoring System Problems of Chevrolet Express 3500

2010 Chevrolet Express 3500 van. Consumer writes in regards to problem with tire pressure monitor symbol malfunction light and the driver information center message both coming on and staying on particularly during hot weather and long runs the driver information center message would display the amount of psi for the front tires or would only have dashes, as with the rear tires. The system was checked by two different dealerships and both stated there was no problem.

The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Express 3500. The contact stated that the tire pressure sensors on the valve stems were corroded and leaking abnormally. The valve stems were manufacturer by siemens-continental. The dealer was contacted but provided no assistance. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer and they would inspect the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 38,000 updated 05/05/lj.

I have a 2009 Chevrolet Express 3500 with 51,000 miles on it. In a two week period at the end of Jan '10 I had 3 tire valve stem failures. When I attempted to remove the valve cap to check air pressure the top of the stem blew right off. I've replaced three and the one remaining factory valve stem is on the drivers side front tire. I'm in fear of my life driving with this equipment. What happens if it fails while I'm driving 60 mph down the highway ??.
