When my 2000 chevy Impala gets too hot the transmission begins to stick, and the vehicle slows down, and then transmission shift very pulls hard. It occurs mostly as the weather starts to get warm.
Vehicle was at dealer for left axle seal leak. Next day vibration noticed while slight right turn pressure on wheel. Returned vehicle to dealer. Couldn't find problem on lot. After testing on road for 2 mins. It was determined that transmission had total failure.
My 2000 chevy Impala has transmission problems that may result in me having to purchase another one. This car was shipped out with a 4t65-e tranny, which has more problems than the law should approve. In my current research I have found hundreds of recalls concerning the 4t65-e all in different gm vehicles. My Impala's tranny is about to go, the symptoms are hard shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. I don't think it's fair that I was sold a car with a defective transmission. This problem should be corrected.
Consumer stated that when putting vehicle in park on a hill the vehicle would pop out of park and start to roll back in reverse, causing damage to the vehicle. Dealer notified.
Steering colum in my car has a clunk/vibratoin. The engine cradle was replaced and I was told that this was the problem , but later the noise returned after the 36000 warranty was over. Now dealer tells me that my extended warranty that I paid for would not cover the repair. Also the car is having tranmission problems, still waiting to see if they can find the problem. . . . Have been told that if no check engine light comes on then there is nothing wrong. I am going to leave with the dealer and have the service mgr drive, but not a lot of hope in this.
Consumer states that while driving at any speed and with no warning transmission will lock up, locking the rear tires, and it will be hard to control the vehicle. Consumer will be forced to pull over.
The vehicle rolled backwards while on a hill.
My transmission in my 2000 Impala is gone ,mileage under 22,000, dealership is replacing transmission, I contacted GMC customer service dept they offer me a transmission component letter warranty for 5 yr or 60,000 mles whatever come first, I am upset that the dealership is replacing the transmission with a serta transmission , thats why I contacted GMC they offer this letter has customer satifaction , I quess I have to other chose but to accept the warranty lettter , because it will cover the serta transmission.
Repeat failure: warmed car parked one hour. Enter car, start engine, back slowly from parking. Put transmission in drive, depressed throttle moderately-balk/hesitated/"lean balk"-more throttle=worse, lasts 7 seconds, then comes to life. Near accident pulling into traffic!.
On any incline vehicle will roll back when taking foot off brake to throttle. Consumer spoke to dealer who said that front wheel drive vehicles do that. Consumer contacted manufacturer, and representative checked out the complaint, and stated that it seemed to be a common complaint.
Car will drift backwards when auto transmission is in drive. Could back into another car causing their air bag to deploy, or hit someone walking behind the car. Dealer says that this is normal, I say it is not and it is a defect that should be fixed.
When the vehicle is on an upgrade or downgrade the vehicle rolls in the direction of the decline when the vehicle is placed in gear, this condition occurs on the slightest declines, the dealer has been notified. Nlm.
